We are looking for a professional who can swiftly and effectively adapt to changing conditions while strategically navigating complex issues. You must be able to prioritize high-value activities among competing demands.
This role entails the development of diverse improvement strategies, assisting in the implementation of new systems and regulations, and collaborating with both local and global teams to ensure the seamless operation of the Japanese subsidiary. To succeed in this position, you must be self-motivated and possess an entrepreneurial mindset.
What you'll do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Benefits, HR Business Partners (HRBP), Payroll, Legal, Talent Acquisition (TA), People Operations, and Workplace Experience (WE), to ensure smooth operations in Japan.
  • Work with the Japan leadership team to assist with prioritization of staffing needs.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to statutory requirements while aligning with Atlassian's internal policies.
  • Take the initiative to address employee inquiries, provide coaching, and resolve issues at the first point of contact whenever feasible.
  • Assist employees and collaborate with managers to effectively manage processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and leave of absence.
  • Ensure a comprehensive understanding of company policies and their updates, and deliver necessary training to employees as needed.
  • Support the internal transfer process for individuals planning to relocate to Japan from other Atlassian entities.
  • Provide planning assistance for social and team-building activities of Japan.


Your background

  • 7+ years of administrative experience, effectively managed responsibilities in a dynamic, high-growth global environment.
  • Ability to build strong and trusted relationships with leadership teams, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders is essential.
  • Experience in both small and large organizations, along with a strong understanding of local regulations, is highly desirable.
  • Able to independently recognize and proactively initiate the necessary actions to ensure the organization achieves compliance.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential.
