Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our Warehousing & Logistics team.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations, workforce, cost performance, and service execution of our assigned South Africa warehouse. You will drive operational excellence, ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and optimize capacity to support high-impact customer logistics.
You will lead a dynamic, dedicated local team of warehouse supervisors, operators, and support staff, collaborating cross-functionally with customer service, commercial, and transport teams.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
Lead operational execution and efficiency: Manage and coordinate all daily warehouse activities—including receiving, storage, inventory management, picking, and dispatch—to achieve key performance indicators across productivity, accuracy, and operational cost management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients: Partner with transport, customer service, commercial, human resources, and internal leadership teams to seamlessly onboard new customers, fulfill service level agreements, and address client inquiries.
Ensure compliance and continuous improvement: Maintain strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, South African labor legislation, and company procedures while driving initiatives to optimize space, equipment, and workflows.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
5–8 years of experience in managing or supervising warehouse, distribution, or contract logistics operations.
Strong knowledge of warehouse processes, stock control, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Proven ability in leading and developing high-performing operational teams, optimizing operational budgets, managing key performance indicators, and maintaining positive customer relations.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business Administration preferred.
