About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Operations Manager for our Sanctions Screening team.
Enterprise Payments Operations is an Enterprise-wide function within the Enterprise Operations and undertakes Payments activities across the enterprise supporting all lines business especially Commercial Banking (CB) and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and Consumer and Small Business banking businesses across the entire client life cycle. The function brings together all payment related functions - wires, ACH, Real Time payments, Lockbox functions, Payment Command Center, Swift room management and testing. The Enterprise payments with in I&P sits under the CB/CIB business vertical and undertakes variety of operations names – wires processing, sanction screening, payment investigation and repair, ACH, payment testing and production support and lockbox. The operations covers all stages of payment lifecycle supporting various line of business.
In this role, you will:
Manage and develop one or more specialized customer service and operations functional teams within Operations area with complex and risk in functional area
Develop strategies to improve staffing processes, ensure specialized functions meet regulatory guidelines in support of risk management and compliance
Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated within the Operations area
Work independently on moderately complex issues and projects
Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development and escalates issues to more experienced management
Provide training, performance, evaluation and coaching of less experienced team
Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives and operations of functional area and team to meet business objectives
Interpret and develop policies and procedures for operation functions with low to moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
Provide responsibility for budget and financial performance
Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
Lead team to achieve objectives
Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Operations
Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
2+ years of leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge and understanding of Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) compliance
Knowledge on Message types of SWIFT, FED WIRE, CHIPS
Fluent in both verbal and written communication skills
Proven management skills with ability to analyze issues and provide solution in a tactful manner
Ability to work independently and provide support on flexible hours/working days
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
Well organized, proactive, constructive and capable to motivate teamwork
Transition/Process migration experience in a shared service environment
Knowledge in transaction management
Interbank network
Payment network systems
Management of cut-off times
Required to monitor any wires that are in the queue
Work directly with Fircosoft and trust sanctions filter
Utilize World Check/Lexis Nexis screening tools to complete any transnational analysis needed Complete any AD HOC screening requests
Transaction workflow (swift and sepa)
Job Expectations:
Must be able to attend full duration of required training period
Ability to work additional hours as needed
Must work on-site at the located posted
