Job Description

As an Operations Manager based at our our Corby - Geddington Road site. You will manage all site operations activity across all warehouse functions to maximise profit whilst achieving revenue growth targets. You will focus on ensuring SLAs are improved on every occasion. The Operations Manager will play a key role in helping improve the site and develop the management team to ensure there is a clear succession plan in the operation.

As the successful candidate, you will contribute to the overall success of the site, and will report directly to the site General Manager.  

Fixed term contract - End of July to January 2027

Working hours: Monday to Friday nights, 22.00-06.00

Key Duties of a Operations Manager:

  • Manage the collection of data and maintenance of records as required to produce the agreed Key Performance Indicators. 
  • Performance and development reviews with direct reports, ensure succession plans are in place
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety reporting, including employee accidents, near misses, MHE status/defects
  • Track and report on team performance
  • Resource planning, recruitment and management of agency requirements
  • Ensure all individual KPI’s are met across the contracts to ensure customer SLA is met
  • Support in the resolution of staff-related matters to reduce disruption to the operation
  • Regular communication with clients, building strong working relationships
  • Manage budgets and forecasting to support effective planning
  • Minimise cost by managing stock accuracy and loss
  • Prepare, revise and submit reports, budgets and other documentation as and when requested
  • Driving continuous improvement within the operation

Qualifications

  • Previous operational management experience.
  • Experience of managing large teams within a fast-paced, commercially focussed environment
  • Able to work effectively and communicate with all levels within an organisation
  • Experience and knowledge of continuous improvement principles and methodologies
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Client facing – experienced at interaction with senior management teams
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness
  • Experience managing client SLA’s, measuring and monitoring performance using various IT systems
  • Proactive approach when identifying potential challenges
