About the role

The Operations Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the production of Halter’s Smart Collars is accurate, on time, and delivered to an exceptional standard. Embedded day-to-day at our manufacturing partner’s factory, this role acts as the central coordinator of operations. You will be bridging internal and external teams, orchestrating complex build schedules, and driving operational excellence across all production activities.

This is a hands-on, dynamic position suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, is highly organised, and can work across organisations and teams to deliver exactly what’s needed on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver all production builds to schedule, ensuring accuracy, readiness, and quality.
  • Communicate build approvals to the factory and coordinate execution aligned with the production plan.
  • Proactively manage build plan changes and ensure both Halter and factory teams are aligned.
  • Coordinate contract manufacturers and other partners to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
  • Manage the process for ongoing reliability testing, including maintaining a clear schedule, sharing results with stakeholders.
  • Maintain visibility over material disposition and ensure the correct processes are followed.
  • Build deep, trust-based relationships with factory personnel at all levels.
  • Coordinate both internal and external teams to maintain strong alignment and effective communication.
  • Influence behaviours and drive adoption of new processes or improvements, even without formal reporting-line authority.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements at the factory.
  • Develop dashboards, progress trackers and reporting tools to improve transparency and accountability.
  • Increase build and operational reliability through structured processes, feedback loops, and proactive planning.

Who we’re looking for

  • You may have experience in project/program management, manufacturing operations, production engineering or relevant operational roles. Other experience such as:
  • Managing complex, fast-paced projects with rapid changes and visible progress tracking.
  • Working effectively with cross-border teams across time zones and cultures.
  • Influencing change within a second-party organisation that may have competing priorities.
  • Organising structured program activities (e.g. reliability testing programs) with clean reporting and stakeholder communication.
  • Familiarity with high-volume electromechanical manufacturing environments (preferred, but not required).

Location of the role

  • On-site at the manufacturing partner’s facility in Thailand, with regular travel to New Zealand to collaborate with our internal team.

What We Do

We bridge deep tech into farming. Halter enables farmers to remotely shift, virtually fence and proactively monitor their cows’ health and behaviour. Can you imagine watching 500 cows or cattle walk calmly towards the milking shed or their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a mob of cows walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionising farming with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry.

Why Work With Us

There's something special about being surrounded by spectacular people making real change in the world. At Halter, you'll do your best work, with the best people and have the biggest impact in a culture grounded in performance.
