Job DescriptionSUMMARY
We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join the team, as a financial business partner to provide Commercial Project and Branch financial oversight and help drive company initiatives and continued growth. The Commercial Operations Finance Manager contributes to the interpretation and analysis of financial and operational results and partners with field operations leaders to drive results. A successful candidate is able to recognize and adjust to change, create disciplined processes, and act as an independent decision maker who will utilize team collaboration. The right individual for this role has a passion for excellence, great attention to detail and a proven ability to develop relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Project and Branch Financial Oversight
- Collaborate and train project managers, sales reps, office managers, field leadership to ensure accurate tracking of job costing, project budgets, POC estimates, and timely and accurate revenue recognition
- Analyze job cost reports, margin variance, and cost-to-complete estimates
- Support the oversight of Revenue Recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to improve project and branch profitability
Forward-Looking Targets & Metrics, Reporting & Analytics, and Driving Results
- Parter with operations to develop and track annual branch budgets, monthly forecasts, and forward-looking metrics (backlog, bidding, etc.)
- Provide analytical insights during the monthly financial close process
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and executive presentations, and recommend actions based on analysis of results
- Assist leadership with identifying actionable financial opportunities across all areas of the P&L
- Partner with field leaders drive operational results and execution of initiatives and best practices
- Evaluate project viability utilizing ROI and capital investment analysis
- Support Working Capital Management
- Collaborate with Finance to perform market and operational research to identify trends and opportunities in the business
- Support merger and acquisition activity
- Perform ad hoc analysis and participate in special projects, as necessary
Systems, Controls, and Process Improvement
- Drive process improvement and continuous training by performing training and communicating best practices related to management of commercial project financials
- Assist with monitoring key controls of company assets and providing coaching, as needed
- Support external audits and assist with delivery of required documentation
- Identify automation opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system efficiencies
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Masters degree and/or CPA preferred
- 3-5 years experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Solid foundation in U.S. GAAP and experience with project-based accounting and job costing
- Advanced Excel and ERP experience (Oracle experience is a plus)
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity, and professionalism
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative working style
- Technical skills including advanced spreadsheet development, Power BI, Alteryx, Smart Sheets, or other automation tools strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Flexibility to work outside standard hours to support across multiple time zones is required

Compensation Range:
$96,000.00 - $149,500.00The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
