Position Mission:
The Operations Coordinator interfaces with the Group Leader, Supervisor, Dispatchers, Drivers, and Forklift Operators. This function could also include interaction with internal and external customers including GPC suppliers and outside carrier services/drivers. The coordinator must complete the various company forms utilized in freight movement such as loading/unloading manifests, freight bills, Bill of Ladings, outbound manifests, Hazmat BOLs/Manifests, PODs, and other operations documents that RMDS utilizes. The coordinator will also be responsible for using the McLeod operating system to monitor shipment locations as freight moves through the various terminals.

Responsibilities:
- In addition to the duties listed below employee is also expected to perform any additional duties as assigned by management and to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Operates McLeod, Microsoft Outlook and any other computer/internal freight monitoring systems used within the company to monitor freight movement.
- Comprehends and ensures compliance with company and government regulations.
- Closely works with the Operations Supervisor to ensure alignment in meeting daily/weekly/monthly and yearly business objectives.
- Provide analyses, suggestions and ideas for the improvement of operations within the shift, department and facility.
- Add/update order comments critical to carrier communication and service reporting
- Monitor automated carrier selection and assignment. Also, monitor carrier pickup and delivery procedures at terminal.
- Communicate pickup and/or delivery problems to Suppliers, DC’s , Jobbers
- Monitor shipment status information for the operations team.
- Monitor EDI transactions and process errors
- Manage error handling and exceptions
- Resolve service issues related to carrier claims, volumes, on-time performance and automation
- Provide shipment status information to suppliers / DC’s /Jobbers, based on communications with carrier
- Communicate delivery or shipment problems to customer, as necessary
- Accountable/Commitment-Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
Experience, Education, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- At least 18 years of age.
- 1 or more years of general office / clerical experience.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Competent keyboard skills to produce accurate reports.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to operate well under pressure.
- Highly motivated individual with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- McLeod experience a plus.
