  • Works in collaboration with Program management in program operation and development, i.e.: program policies, procedures, and communication systems.
  • Provides supervision to assigned staff, which may include client workers. Responsible for hiring and training of staff, maintaining employee records, and preparing weekly time sheets.
  • Completes and maintains all stages of BPHC Professional Development System (PDS) for assigned staff.
  • Works in collaboration with designated manager(s) to ensure coverage for daily shift operations. Schedules overtime and fill-in counselors for assigned program.
  • Provides direction and assistance during crisis intervention, according to Non-Violent, Crisis Intervention Policy and Procedures.
  • Oversees daily operation of the assigned shift.
  • Oversees the safety, security and cleanliness of the facility.
  • Communicates maintenance issues to the facilities department.
  • Oversees client's services during shift. Monitors meals, linen returns and toiletry and clothing distribution.
  • Works with vendors to ensure high quality linen, cleaning and food service during shift. Oversees work details, resident admissions, room assignments, and Client Property procedures.
  • Oversees client transportation, and vehicle maintenance services. Transports clients via program vehicle.
  • Assists in overseeing and facilitation of support group meetings, treatment groups, AA/NA meetings, life skills and other trainings for clients.
  • Work in multi-disciplinary approach with other health services, addiction, and behavioral health service agencies or departments. Works with program staff and outside agencies to make appropriate referrals.
  • Completes all required record keeping, including incident and assessments reports, disciplinary records, bed register, client database.
  • Oversees medication administration and storages. Develops protocols for safe medication storage and administration in conjunction with the Program Director and the MDPH or funder guidelines.
  • Orders office supplies, opens purchase orders, and assists Program Director with monitoring program budget as assigned. Enforces program policies and plans, assists in designing and implementing shift policies.
  • Attends and/or facilitates assigned meetings.
  • Performs other tasks as needed and as requested by supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of one (1) year supervisor experience and two (2) years of human service experience or College-level course work equivalent to an Associate's degree with two (2) years minimum supervisory experience and three (3) years human service experience or High School Diploma/GED Certificate and three (3) years or supervisory experience and three (3) years of human services experience.
  • Licenses, certifications or program specific experience may be required by grant or program needs.
  • Mental health or social work license strongly preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver's License with safe driving record (copy of driving record will be required in accordance with Department/program procedures).
  • Experience working with the homeless, diverse ethnic, racial and low-income populations, and an understanding of mental health issues and substance abuse.
  • Bilingual/Spanish preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Computer skills are essential.
