Job Title: Operations Associate
Report to: Director of House in the Wood
Salary/Rate: $40,000 to $50,000
Status: Full time + Robust Benefits Package
Location: Delavan, Wisconsin (On-Site – Housing not provided)
House In The Wood operated by Northwestern Settlement is a 23-acre residential camp located on the shores of Lake Delavan, Wisconsin. It serves underserved youth by providing transformative outdoor experiences that foster leadership, confidence, and resilience. The camp offers Summer Camp, Outdoor Education, and Leader In Training programs, all designed to disrupt generational poverty through immersive, nature-based learning . The Operations Associate will ensure the seamless operation of camp facilities and programs. This position involves a mix of logistical coordination, facility maintenance, and administrative support to create a safe and welcoming environment for our campers and guests.
Responsibilities:

Regularly inspects camp buildings and facilities prioritizing necessary repairs, improvements, and preventive maintenance.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors for routine maintenance and emergency repairs.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized camp facilities and grounds.

Collaborate with program staff to set up and break down for scheduled events.

Comply with Wisconsin State Health and Safety Code and American Camp Association standards.

Monitor inventory levels of camp supplies and equipment.

Coordinate ordering and restocking of materials as needed.

Prioritizes work requests from the email ticket systems.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in operations, facilities management, or event coordination, preferably in a camp or nonprofit setting.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to perform physical tasks related to facility maintenance and event setup.

Comfortable working in an outdoor environment and varying weather conditions.

Commitment to being on the on-call rotation for possible emergencies.

Willingness to undergo background check
