Department Overview

Our Servicing experts service all Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA Finance loans originated by Walker & Dunlop as well as certain life insurance company, bank, and CMBS loans. Our Servicing experts are the borrower’s primary point of contact and ensure that the requirements of the investors are met from loan closing through payoff. The Department consists of six main functional areas: Loan Administration, Asset Management, Insurance Compliance, Investor Reporting, Treasury, and Compliance. W&D’s Servicing portfolio is the 8th largest in the U.S., and W&D is one of Fitch’s highest-rated Servicers, with a rating of CPS1-.

The Impact You Will Have

The Mortgage Loan Servicing Operations Associate is a key member of the Servicing team. The Associate is responsible for monitoring vendor relationships and independently managing critical servicing functions such as UCC Administration (Continuations and Terminations), Mortgage Lien Release Administration, Insurance Premium Disbursement Processing, New Loan Setup, Tax Payments, and Escrow Analysis all in accordance with the programmatic requirements of the Lender and internal Policies and Procedures.
 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct, review, and approve the daily processing work of staff members/vendors to ensure timely execution. Support staff where necessary and ensure accuracy of work.

  • Independently manage multiple key processes with minimal management oversight.

  • Insurance Premium Disbursement Processing – manage the process of making insurance premium payments through Borrower escrow accounts.

  • Tax Payment Processing – work with vendors to make tax parcel payments through Borrower escrow accounts.

  • UCC Monitoring – Track and monitor UCC expiration dates and prepare filings of continuations through vendor website; track and prepare UCC Terminations through vendor website at the time of loan payoff.

  • Mortgage Lien Releases – Work alongside our third-party vendor and relevant external and internal parties to ensure timely filing of Lien Releases at the time of loan payoff.

  • Escrow Analysis - Ensure all escrow analysis are prepared accurately and timely. Notify servicing staff of any exceptions when analysis results fall outside of predetermined thresholds. 

  • Perform Quality Control testing across all vendor relationships to ensure a high standard of quality is maintained.

  • Assist in training and mentoring of staff members.

  • Provide guidance on automating tasks and identify/implement efficiencies within the Department.

  • Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Attendance is generally 8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday with the ability to work up to 2 of those days remotely.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field, with 7 years or more experience in commercial lending; particularly in loan servicing for commercial or residential properties; and/or combination of education and experience required.
