The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is currently pursing a new opportunity and has an opening for an Operations Architect to work in San Diego, California. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:

Design and implement DevSecOps practices across the project to ensure secure, scalable, and automated software development processes.

Establish and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines, automating testing, deployment, and monitoring to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Integrate security measures into every stage of the software development lifecycle to ensure systems are secure by design.

Ensure compliance with DoD security standards, including NIST 800-53, DISA STIG, RMF, and Zero Trust principles.

Evaluate and integrate open-source and commercial DevSecOps tools to enhance the efficiency, security, and scalability of software development.

Stay informed on emerging DevSecOps technologies and methodologies to continuously improve software development processes.

Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure seamless operations.

Optimize resource utilization and performance of systems and pipelines to meet operational demands.

Collaborate with development, IT, and security teams to align DevSecOps practices with project requirements and security regulations.

Work closely with stakeholders to translate business objectives into secure and efficient operational strategies.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams, ensuring adherence to best practices in DevSecOps.

Mentor team members on DevSecOps principles, tools, and practices to build expertise within the organization.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of DevSecOps architectures, processes, and tools.

Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Red Hat Certified Specialist in DevOps.

12+ years of experience in operations, software development, or system architecture roles, with at least 5 years focused on DevSecOps.

Proven track record of designing and implementing DevSecOps architectures in enterprise or government environments.

Expertise with CI/CD tools and frameworks, such as Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and Bamboo.

Proficiency in automation and IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Must possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance

Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and secure operational strategies.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving complex operational issues.
Preferred Qualifications.

Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Security certifications like CISSP, CCSP, or CompTIA Security+

Familiarity with USSOCOM’s operational requirements and the SOF Information Environment (SIE).

Previous experience supporting DoD programs, ensuring alignment with strict compliance and security standards.

Experience designing and managing secure DevSecOps pipelines in classified or high-security environments.

Expertise in integrating advanced tools and technologies into DevSecOps workflows, such as AI-driven automation or advanced monitoring solutions.

Proven ability to identify bottlenecks and implement innovative solutions to improve software development and deployment processes.

Experience with serverless computing, microservices architecture, and scalable cloud solutions.

Experience leading technical teams and mentoring team members to build a DevSecOps culture.

Strong ability to promote collaboration and align technical strategies with program goals.

Pay Range:Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
