We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to strengthen our Transaction Monitoring and AML/CTF operational control framework. The main focus of the role will be the review, investigation, documentation, and escalation of transaction monitoring alerts, supported by related operational activities such as chargeback handling, daily financial operations through reconciliation , and internal reporting.

The position requires close collaboration with Compliance, Customer Operations, Payments, and other internal teams to ensure alerts, discrepancies, and operational issues are reviewed, documented, and resolved in a timely and controlled manner.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Reviewing alerts generated by the Bank’s Transaction Monitoring and Screening systems and documenting appropriate outcome decisions;

  • Assessing customers’ historical account activity to establish baseline behavior and identify suspicious, unusual, or anomalous activity;

  • Reviewing transactional supporting documentation to determine whether the activity is consistent with the customer’s known profile;

  • Escalating relevant alerts, cases, and suspicious activity concerns to the second-line Compliance Team;

  • Liaising with Customer Operations, Payments, and other internal teams to obtain information required to close open alerts;

  • Ensuring proper follow-up, tracking, and documentation of pending investigations and escalated cases;

  • Supporting card transaction monitoring and chargeback handling where required;

  • Investigating discrepancies identified through daily operational checks, reconciliations, or monitoring activities;

  • Supporting bank system and internal system daily verification and reconciliation activities across currencies and countries;

  • Tracking, monitoring, and escalating JIRA tickets impacting daily operational, reconciliation, or transaction monitoring activities;

  • Ensuring DRTs are locked in a consistent and timely manner in line with DRT procedures;

  • Ensuring that applicable policies, procedures, and operational controls are followed within the department;

  • Maintaining complete and accurate records of investigations, reconciliations, escalations, and case outcomes;

  • Sharing knowledge and experience with team members and providing support when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 2+ years of experience in Transaction Monitoring, AML/CTF operations, Financial Crime, or a related compliance/operations role within banking, fintech, or financial services.

  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF regulations, transaction monitoring processes, and suspicious activity identification.

  • Proven experience reviewing and investigating transaction monitoring or screening alerts, with the ability to make well-reasoned, risk-based decisions.

  • Familiarity with customer due diligence (CDD/KYC) and the assessment of customer profiles against transactional behavior.

  • Experience handling escalations and working with Compliance teams in a second-line or audit environment.

  • Knowledge of card transactions and chargeback processes is an advantage.

  • Experience with reconciliation processes, financial operations, and identifying discrepancies across multi-currency environments.

  • Proficiency in using case management systems, transaction monitoring tools, and ticketing platforms (e.g., JIRA).

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to identify anomalies and patterns.

  • Excellent documentation skills with the ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready records of investigations and decisions.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

  • High integrity, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

The salary range for this role is starting from €30,000 gross per year.

Skills Required
