Roles and Responsibilities
Procurement and Sourcing for Peacebuilding Programmes:
•Manage purchasing for goods, works, and services needed for peacebuilding activities (e.g., venue bookings for peace dialogues, transport for community stakeholders, visibility materials, equipment, and local consulting services) in strict compliance with NGO policy and donor regulations.
•Solicit bids, compile quotation comparative tables, prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs), and negotiate clear, cost-effective contracts with suppliers while upholding "Value for Money" standards.
•Conduct thorough vetting, background checks, and anti-terrorism/conflict-sensitivity screening for suppliers to ensure the organization does not inadvertently fund parties involved in local conflicts or human rights abuses.
•Work with Programme Officers during project inception to develop realistic Annual Procurement Plans tied to peacebuilding project timelines.
Field Operations and Event Logistics
•Lead logistics planning for field-level peace interventions, multi-stakeholder workshops, mediation forums, and youth/women peace summits (including travel itineraries, accommodation, equipment rental, and per diem distributions).
•Coordinate safe ground/air transportation for project staff, peace building facilitators, community elders, and visiting donors.
Reporting: Generate monthly procurement trackers, inventory reports, and vehicle log summaries for senior management and project budget holders
