Job Description
Operations and Optimization Analyst
$68,860 - $92,100 - $115,340
Summary
The Operations and Optimization Analyst will support the development and on-going support of various PHG operational processes. These processes include client and internal reporting, regulatory reporting, vendor documentation control, management of client files and associated file adjustments, client rebate operational processes, drug list maintenance, and various other responsibilities as assigned. This position will involve new process and report development working with vendors, clients, internal departments and IT and managing operational projects and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reporting Operations & Development
- Supports and optimizes a centralized client and internal reporting operation. Assesses operational needs and gaps, and as the company grows, contributes to a lean, scalable operating model. Collaborates with key stakeholders and leaders to develop new, or updated, reports and reporting packages. Key contributor to reporting projects, including gathering business requirements, aligning data file formats, data exchanges and scheduling, report setup, implementation and quality reviews.
Tool Development
- Develops and manages tools to support and automate operational and reporting processes. Tool development includes creating business-oriented tools using Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, SQL). Collaborates with business, operations and IT to identify and implement new or enhanced reporting and business intelligence technologies. Defines business charters, requirements documentation, and collaborates with IT on data integration and application development activities.
Regulatory Reporting Operations
- Understands rebate-oriented regulatory requirements that impact operational and reporting processes. Enhances reporting processes to meet state and federal regulatory requirements, including Medicare DIR reporting with PHG clients. Keen awareness of upstream rebate processes in order to ensure all data is available for required reporting.
Operational Process Optimization
- Drives increases in performance and decreases in process variation, supporting defect reduction, improvement in profits, employee morale, and quality of products or services. Contributes to continuous improvement by developing and standardizing business processes, and measuring results. Identifies improvement opportunities for assigned work groups and business processes. Leads and/or supports cross-functional strategic operations initiatives.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Serves as a key member of the Group Operations team, knowledgeable on PHG’s client operations and communicates with clients and vendors related to rebate-oriented operational processes and reporting. Maintains awareness of current and future marketplace trends, customer and vendor needs, opportunities and issues. Provide input to management team to help advance the company’s operational goals and objectives:
Client and Vendor Communication
- Supports PHG Client Services and Operations teams in communications with PHG clients and vendors relative to operational and reporting processes. Produces and provides materials and other communications for PHG clients. Manage client commitments and expectations and ensure positive client results and service feedback.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Pharmacist, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, etc.) and a minimum of five years job related experience with pharmacy benefit, pharmacy rebates and/or health care related fields.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, proficient in Excel and Powerpoint; Project Planning Tools; SQL skills preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Project management certification a plus. Licensed pharmacist experience is a plus.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Managing operational and reporting projects for an organization (individually and jointly with other team members)
- Skilled and knowledgeable in project management, quality assurance, and change management.
- Knowledge of pharmacy benefit rebate management, pharmacy benefit services, and their clinical, technological and operational components preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in a wide variety of business and professional settings.
- Clear track record for achieving goals and deliverables and client commitments.
- Professional demeanor that promotes innovation and collaboration and fosters commitment.
