The Role

The Operations Analyst – Catalog position is principally charged with ensuring that the store Electronic Part Catalog (EPC) is the best in class tool for researching, sourcing and selling automotive parts and accessories including power sports and off highway parts and accessories. This is done by assisting with the establishment, coordination and progress of projects as they relate to the store EPC functionality; including, but not limited to process improvement, technology enhancements, new implementations, training, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Act as subject matter expert for all business process and technology solutions used to run key areas of the assigned business function.

Consistently work to ensure that all aspects of the catalog system are performing as expected, including the areas of search results and performance, vehicle and product information accuracy, and general user experience.

Ensure that catalog searches including recommendations, relevancy, part number and interchange searches produce quality results, sorted in a manner that honors company objectives.

Aid in troubleshooting to determine whether issues are operational or procedural, data, or system related.

Monitor various channels for store feedback and use the information gathered to help determine key initiatives for future product enhancements

Continuously work with and in the field to maintain relevant knowledge and experience in their business area.

Actively identify and document the improvement areas across technology and process that can help drive expense reduction, improved customer service and quality.

Actively work with all necessary technical and functional teams throughout the lifecycle of IT projects including: providing quality business requirements and use cases, development of documentation for technical and functional audiences, approval of functional documentation, monitor and assist in quality assurance testing, perform user acceptance testing, and implementation and rollout of approved technical solutions.

Represent business interests and ensure that all technical designs meet business needs.

Attend and participate in meetings as a representative of Store Operations, providing input and information to help ensure projects are prioritized to provide maximum benefit to O’Reilly corporate and Store Operations.

Develop reporting and metrics to help measure performance and success.

Interpret the software product vision at the feature and story level.

Actively engage with and consult end users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specification.

Assist with maintaining and supporting both current and future systems and procedures handled by the Store Operations department.

Serve as a point of contact for internal customers such as other departments, Field Operations, etc.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Strong automotive product knowledge, understanding of automotive theories and repair procedures

Thorough knowledge of automotive parts cataloging or parts counter experience

Thorough understanding of computers and desktop applications including Microsoft Office Suite

Strong organizational and time management skills

Excellent people and communication skills

Excellent problem-solving skills

Must be able to learn independently

Desired:

College or business school education with focus on business management and/or computer science

2 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or higher in an O’Reilly store

Significant knowledge of day to day operations at an O’Reilly store

Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) data extraction and analytics including ETL processes
