Description:

Operational Risk Manager

Due to the rapidly growing number of clients and assets under management, Cardano is looking for an Operational Risk Professional. Do you have a broad interest in risk management? Do you enjoy thinking across the entire organization about identifying and controlling risks? Are you analytically strong, structured, and detail-oriented? Then we are looking for you! We offer a versatile role with many development opportunities, in which you are broadly involved in developments within the organization.

The Risk Management team currently consists of ten professionals. As a team, our main responsibilities are setting up the risk management policy, facilitating its implementation, and ensuring a strong risk management culture. To achieve this, we work closely with all teams within Cardano. We also collaborate with the Risk colleagues from the other Cardano entities in the United Kingdom.

As a Risk Professional, you play an important role in mapping and assessing the risks within Cardano, among other things by conducting risk self-assessments with the teams and, in the event of incidents, looking for the underlying root cause and improvement opportunities in processes and helping to ensure business continuity. You participate in projects and contribute from a risk perspective. In the case of increased risks for a specific process, you dive into this and come up with conclusions and recommendations to mitigate this risk. You also play a role in the (monitoring and) recording of these matters in our risk & compliance system.

We are looking for a curious colleague who wants to further develop broadly in the field of risk management. You enjoy working together with colleagues within the team and the organization, but can also work well independently. You are able to think analytically and indicate the core of a complex problem. You enjoy bringing structure and have an eye for detail. You are outspoken and willing to engage in constructive discussion.

As you develop yourself and your skills grow, your responsibility and range of tasks will become more complex and grow along with you. We offer a challenging environment in which you can build risk management expertise and make a valuable contribution to Cardano.

Your qualifications

• Completed university education

• At least five years of work experience.

• You have a proactive attitude and enjoy taking initiative.

• You like to bring structure and have an eye for detail.

• You have excellent analytical skills and are interested in, but preferably already have experience in risk management and compliance.

• You are a true team player and enjoy collaborating, with both your direct colleagues and colleagues from other teams in the organization.

• You can also work well independently.

• You are open to discussion.

• You are able to express yourself clearly in both Dutch and English.

At Cardano, we strive for an inclusive organization where diversity is extremely important. If you do not fully meet the qualifications but the role excites you, we would love to speak with you.

About us

Cardano was founded in 2000. We believe in a just society in which our financial system contributes to the quality of life. In an irrational, uncertain world with a financial system that regularly goes awry, we feel responsible for safeguarding other people's money. Therefore, we help to secure people's assets for a good old age. We do this by eliminating unwanted and unrewarded risks and by embracing the risks that are necessary to make people and society more resilient.

Cardano offers its clients specialized and integrated investment and risk management services; both advice and full implementation and management. Since its founding in 2000, Cardano has supported many European pension funds, insurers, and other financial end-users with strategic advice, implementation, and management of investment strategies, manager research, and selection.
