Job Description:

The Operational Due Diligence (“ODD”) Analyst will assist with developing technology solutions using Diligence Vault, MS Excel, and Power BI to assist Global Operational Due Diligence (“GMODD”) team conduct operational due diligence assessments on investment managers across all asset classes.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

  • Apply Diligence Vault, MS Excel, and Power BI data management experience to help the due diligence team automate workflows and perform data analysis.
  • Assist the GMODD team members with automating manual workflows including background checks, document retrieval, and data research for global investment managers.
  • Facilitate and assist in organizing ODD reviews.
  • Obtain and review documentation including regulatory filings, marketing material, due diligence questionnaires, as well as operations, compliance, trading, and valuation policies and procedures from third party managers.
  • Apply technology and AI skills to evaluate business, compliance, and operational risks associated with global investment managers relative to the scope of the GMODD program requirements including learning how to perform desktop reviews of investment managers globally.
  • Apply technology to generate operational due diligence reports.
  • Raise and escalate to the GMOOD Director and Senior ODD Analyst issues identified during the review and interface with the GMODD Team members.
  • Ensure records management/data systems are maintained and up to date.
  • Contribute to enhancements of the Russell Investments’ operational due diligence program.
  • Support the GMODD Director and Senior ODD Analyst with Board and Committee reporting responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required.
  • 2-4 + years of industry experience (in operational due diligence, research, compliance, risk or operations role at either an investment management firm, investment consulting firm, or large asset allocator).
  • Technology skills, including strong proficiency with MS Excel, Diligence Vault, MS Power BI and comfort with database applications are required.
  • Experience manipulating data through MS Excel, and preferably Diligence Vault, to perform data analysis.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Macros and SQL, Power BI are required.
  • Experience and knowledge of Diligence Vault platform preferred.
  • Familiarity with various global regulatory and compliance regimes, rules, and regulations preferred.
  • Ability to articulate concerns/issues effectively to internal teams.
  • Demonstrated initiative to work independently and engage in execution of responsibilities while collaborating with a global team.
  • Efficient time management skills with ability to work to tight deadlines are required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a team player.
