This is a full time, non-tenure track faculty position, primarily working with students in the College of Engineering’s Multidisciplinary Graduate Engineering (MGEN) Unit on the Boston campus.

The MGEN Cooperative Education Program at Northeastern University is committed to equal opportunity while building a climate of belonging on and beyond campus. Activities to support this endeavor include site visits to new and existing employers, follow up communications, and continued efforts to develop new and enhance current relationships with employers.

Preparation of Students

Preparation includes teaching tools appropriate for co-op search (interviewing skills, resume writing, LinkedIn, professional behavior, and job search tools) as well as career foundations topics (such as ethics, mindset, mindfulness, and motivation).

  • The coordinator will be the primary point of contact for a large group of students in preparing for co-op and while on co-op.

  • The coordinator will collaborate with college faculty, administration, and other co-op coordinators both within the unit and across the university to help students integrate their co-op and academic education and share knowledge of the industry with academic faculty to integrate work-based learning with curriculum-based learning.

Service

  • The coordinator will also perform co-op, MGEN, college, and university service as agreed upon by the Coordinator and Director of the MGEN Co-op Unit of the College of Engineering.

  • Further, he/she/they will be encouraged to engage in service opportunities outside the University to enhance the reputation of the co-op program and the University.
