Job Description SummaryThe Onsite Biomedical Engineering Team Leader will report to the Account Manager and oversee the day-to-day operations of the biomedical engineering team. This role involves providing technical guidance, managing resources, and ensuring the effective running and delivery of services for the respective site. As the Team Leader, you will build strong relationships with clients, customers, and peers, provide leadership to team members, and ensure compliance within quality. The role is workshop based.

Job DescriptionOperational Delivery:
  • Report to the KAM and NAM on all aspects of operational delivery through regular communication and formal reporting.
  • Manage company resources for effective service delivery.
  • Liaise with customers at all levels to ensure service commitments are fulfilled.
  • Regularly review of onsite equipment compliance and ensure contractual KPIs are meet.
  • Schedule and complete workload for assigned customers within the area.
  • Manage the preventative maintenance plan and supervise the team to maintain correctives.
  • Assist with team appraisals and action outcomes proactively.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring they are supported, motivated, and trained.
  • Maintain spare part stock and manage monthly decommissioning/auction collection.
  • Maintain tools and test equipment in line with quality standards.
  • Hands-on involvement in the maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment.
  • Escalate and define necessary resources to maintain equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate training requirements for team members.
  • Manage team requirements for CMS training and ensure data integrity on CMS tool.
  • Oversee and manage OEM Sub-Contractors on site.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams within GEHC to achieve local or global goals.
  • Collaborate with other team leads and customer for capital replacement planning and delivery.
  • Travel to various sites may be required to perform maintenance and support activities.
Client and Customer Relations:
  • Build strong relationships with the client (GEHC) and the customer (NHS Trust).
  • Promote a professional and proactive approach to all customer issues.
  • Attend customer meetings when required.
  • Deal with OEM’s service staff and management when required.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and handle any reasonable requests or project requests.
Quality and Compliance:
  • Comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, LWIs and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety alerts and bulletins from OEMs and MHRA.
  • Complete all compliance trainings on time and ensure team’s trainings are up to date.
  • Investigate and close out customer complaints and incidents in accordance with procedures.
  • Regularly review LWIs and procedures with the wider team to maker process leaner.
  • Take ownership of the workshop and comply with local H&S regulations.
  • Carry out site health checks with engineer monthly and report on any QA issues.
  • Decommissioning process ownership, ensuring data removal before devices leaves site.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of biomedical engineering and equipment management.
  • Proficiency in using Contract Database Systems like Asset Plus (AP).
  • Ability to manage resources and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
