Position Summary

Samsung’s Omnichannel marketing team work alongside some of the biggest brands in the UK across the network and sim-free retailer market. The team is committed to activating best-in-class through the line campaigns for all MX products (mobile, tablet, wearables, audio, computing and accessories). This role defines and controls what consumers “see”, “feel” and “hear” about Samsung MX product & services within our Channel partners.
The Omni Channel Marketing team for MX are responsible for leading the channel partner marketing relationships and end to end execution across all owned and paid touchpoints. Our channel partner’s success in ranging, promoting and driving sell-out of our MX portfolio is at the heart of what we do. By ensuring we commercialise our marketing, deliver execution leadership and drive innovation, we continue to define our stronghold in the UK market. We are looking for a highly commercial leader to lead the Omni Channel Marketing team across our Pure Player B2C accounts within MX.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Head of Omni Channel Marketing– co-own and lead the governance and execution of channel partner launch and promotional plans ‘play backs’ and ‘wall walks’ to the wider business and MX LT.

  • Taking a customer centric approach, drive collaborative development of Pure Player propositions within the product management team and how best to implement into the market with measured effectiveness

  • Collaborate with our Suwon office to unlock global funding initiatives through compelling arguments, supported by commercial ambition, digital performance marketing across multiple channels, and growth metrics.

  • Manage Samsung’s customer journey across our channel partner touchpoints to create best in class consumer shopping experiences

  • Lead a team of three Omnichannel Marketing Managers with end to end responsibility for these partnerships across all aspects including quarterly investment, marketing delivery and results

  • Understand Pure Player digital landscape with a robust understanding of investment efficiency, performance marketing and new digital first approach to Go-to-Market

  • Management of Amazon Advertising spend and online execution supporting Samsung’s product and promotional plans ensuring a high share of voice is achieved, through various touch points of the channel customer journey (TTL)

  • Responsible for budgeting and handling spend within channels, as well as effective management of marketing accruals, which are associated with channel commercial terms contracts

  • Deliver brand, commercial and channel objectives (with specific focus on sell out / lower funnel) in the AMS space

  • Ability to articulate quantitative and qualitative data to senior stakeholders with often conflicting metrics

  • Management of Samsung’s appointed content agency responsible for Product Detail Page setups, optimisation and promotional activity

  • Collaborating closely with Amazon Retail partners (AVS) to ensure value adding promotional activity is queued and implemented during key event periods (i.e. cashback)

  • Dives deep into business objectives and needs of partners in order to assess and develop mutually beneficial programs to secure cross-channel programming

  • Control, optimise and develop multi-channel marketing investments for your relevant categories across the available budgets that are measurable and aligned to the teams ROAS principles.

  • Demonstrating knowledge of business to business commercial and marketing contracts, using agreed clauses and delivering with commercial impact. Implement forward-thinking basics within any new/existing agreement (including ongoing reporting and optimisation)

  • Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value and define the key areas of focus and direction.

  • Support the development of your team through regular mentoring, coaching and feedback, 1:1s and on the job learning opportunities.

  • Role model inclusion for your team to build trust and psychological safety.

  • Ensure communication with your team is a core focus area including cascade of information from LT’s and relevant business updates.

  • Manage the on boarding, off boarding process and the entirety of the colleague lifecycle process for all team members.

  • Manage all annual people management cycles such as goal setting, evaluation and salary reviews to a high quality and in a timely manner.

  • To ensure your team adheres to our established processes and procedures, including meeting critical business deadlines and understanding the things we value.

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Established Amazon marketing background - ideally with extensive experience directly with Amazon or supporting partner agency

  • Strong leadership skills and proven track record to motivate change

  • Formal people management experience leading a team

  • Must be able to demonstrate experience across the marketing mix – ATL& BTL

  • Written and verbal communication skills, articulating cases to senior audiences

  • 360 marketing experience, with a focus on digital (and clear understanding of digital marketing metrics)

  • Proven ability to handle significant budgets and drive business opportunities delivering return on investment

  • Commercial ‘know how’ to produce a case to a senior audience, rationalising return on investment on marketing spend

  • Multi-tasking with ability to juggle multiple priorities and business demands

  • Strong negotiating and relationship building skills

  • Initiative and energy to present ideas proactively

  • Great teammate with a can-do attitude & spirit and non-silo approach to work

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communicator with solid presentation skills

  • Passion for mobile, technology and innovation

  • You will have a strong understanding of performance marketing and digital expertise and relationship management across vendor/partner agencies and internal stakeholders.

What does success look like?

  • Tenacity, drive and creativity to grow the MX Pure Player accounts categories in new and exciting ways

  • Interface and own relationships with senior customer counterparts driving broader engagement and advocacy across the Operator and Retailer Channel partners

  • Partner with Sales leadership to hit sales goals in both the short and long term. With the long term ambition of growing Pure Players share from 7% share of business to 10% by end of 2025.

  • Evaluate, redefine and redesign processes, implement and / or utilise workflow tools to ensure scalability for a business expected to triple in growth over the next few years

  • Develop a full-year execution strategy calendar for partners; the primary driver for investment and category prioritisation planning.

The interview process

There will be two stages of interviews. The first will involve the relevant sales counterparts and Charlie Nordfeldt, the Head of Omni Channel Marketing. The second stage may involve a task to present back to the hiring manager and Marketing & Omni Channel Director.

Present back the first 30, 60 and 90 days working within the Samsung team
