In Consumer, Telco, and Technology (CTT), we see consumer-facing industries converging, with technology continuing to disrupt all business models, and B2C, B2B and B2B2C services models ever-growing. What you will do

Principals are experts in particular content areas and provide day-to-day leadership of complex client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process, teaming with Partners. They ensure on-time delivery that meets or exceeds agreed upon goals, leveraging Oliver Wyman best practice, their own expertise and the firm’s technical competence. They become trusted advisors to senior clients, with the ability to guide and influence their thinking, and to be viewed as experts in particular content areas.

Oliver Wyman Principals are seen as Partners of the future and, as such, are fully engaged in building business through identifying new and expanded opportunities; they create exciting and additive intellectual capital through thought leadership and are knowledgeable on a broad range of adjacent topics. Principals develop others and build a strong personal brand both within and outside the firm.
 

  • Providing day-to-day leadership of client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process within those relationships, teaming with Partners and shares responsibility for the success of a specific engagement(s)
  • Supporting our Partner group in project delivery through accurate and high-quality case execution
  • Engaging fully in building business by identifying new and expanded opportunities
  • Creating exciting and additive intellectual capital through thought leadership and are knowledgeable on a broad range of adjacent topics.
  • Overseeing and guiding the consulting team as they develop hypotheses, review client information, and conduct client interviews, derive insights, and produce deliverables
  • Leading firm building activities, seen as a role model for firm values with a strong personal brand within and outside of the firm and are well regarded by Partners, peers, and clients

Desired skills and experience

The Principal position offers excellent career and growth opportunities for talented, highly motivated professionals with significant prior experience.

  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in Retail, Consumer Goods, Telecommunications, and Technology sectors, preferably gained at a top-tier strategy consulting firm (or a comparable organization), or through industry experience within a strategy department or in-house consulting function.
  • In-depth knowledge of the sector, either gained through experience in the industry or in other consultancy houses
  • Track record of leading and managing teams or work streams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environments
  • Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills
  • Ability to apply content knowledge for thought leadership in project execution, develop new intellectual capital to support business development activities and to lead them
  • Outstanding communication skills; confidence in presenting to senior executives
  • Not just intelligence, but creativity too: you’ll be ready to come up with novel ideas to solve our clients’ biggest problems
  • Willingness to travel
