Job Description

Our client is seeking a results-driven and commercially focused Oil & Gas Sales Manager to drive sales growth, develop new business opportunities, and manage key customer relationships within the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, expanding the company's customer base, achieving revenue targets, and identifying new commercial opportunities within the oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve revenue and business growth targets.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the oil and gas sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, including oil and gas companies, service companies, distributors, industrial customers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Generate leads, develop sales pipelines, and convert prospects into long-term customers.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations, presentations, and business cases to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and service agreements in line with company policies.
  • Conduct market research and monitor industry trends, competitor activities, customer needs, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's products and services and effectively communicate their value to customers.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, and other internal teams to ensure effective service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor sales performance, revenue generation, customer acquisition, and profitability against agreed targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, opportunities, and forecasts using CRM and other relevant tools.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, sales forecasts, and performance updates for management.
  • Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, exhibitions, networking events, and other business development engagements.
  • Follow up on outstanding customer payments and work with the finance team to support effective receivables management.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional products and services to existing customers.
  • Maintain an active network of potential clients and industry stakeholders within the Niger Delta and broader Nigerian oil and gas market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven experience in achieving sales targets and developing new business opportunities.
  • Good understanding of the Nigerian oil and gas industry, particularly the upstream and downstream sectors.
  • Experience dealing with oil and gas companies, service providers, distributors, industrial customers, or corporate clients is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, prospecting, relationship management, and deal-closing abilities.
  • Existing network within the Port Harcourt/Niger Delta oil and gas market is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM tools.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Must be commercially aware, target-driven, proactive, and results-oriented.

Additional Information

Salary

Competitive and commensurate with experience, with performance-based incentives.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with regular travel to client offices, oil and gas facilities, operational locations, and other business locations as required.
  • Fast-paced and target-driven environment.
  • Frequent engagement with clients, prospects, industry stakeholders, and business partners.
  • May require extended working hours to attend client meetings, pursue business opportunities, and meet sales targets.
