Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Office Manager/DoD Facilities Security Officer to oversee both the day-to-day operations and security functions at our Chesapeake, VA office. This dual role requires a seasoned professional who can effectively manage office administration while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both office management and security operations, with the ability to lead and support a team. This position is critical in maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient workplace environment for employees, visitors, and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all office functions, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, including administrative tasks and facility management
  • Oversee the processing of security clearances and visit requests while ensuring compliance with DoD security regulations to protect classified and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
  • Coordinate building access, manage access cards, maintain visitor logs, and secure sensitive areas within the facility
  • Oversee vendor contracts, coordinate procurement of office supplies and services, and ensure the timely completion of vendor-related tasks
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of the facility to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards
  • Develop and implement security training programs for staff, ensuring compliance with DCSA requirements and federal regulations
  • Manage office-related expenses, track budgets, and ensure cost-effective operations within the facility
  • Assist executive management with special projects, reporting, and meeting coordination, providing senior-level administrative support

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Security Management, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in office management and/or security operations, preferably within a DoD environment
  • Active DoD issued Secret Clearance OR a previously held DoD issued Secret Clearance
  • Strong knowledge of facilities security programs and federal regulations
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with security management software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in FSO Program Management
  • Knowledge of CMMI or ISO certification processes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new processes and procedures
  • Previous experience in a mid-to-senior level administrative or security role within a government or defense contractor environment
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on maintaining a secure and efficient workplace

The compensation range for this position: $25.00 - $30.00 an hour.
