Job Title:

OCM Program Manager - Business Modernization Program

Reporting To:

GVP - Finance

Work Schedule:

Onsite – Buffalo, NY

The OCM Modernization Program Manager is responsible for leading organizational change management activities associated with the implementation and rollout of the ERP/SAP system across the enterprise. This role owns the enterprise OCM strategy and execution, ensuring sustained adoption, business readiness, and value realization across a multi‑year, phased S/4 implementation. Grounded in modernization best practices, this role positions change management as a core value driver—deliberately addressing the human factors that ultimately determine modernization success.

The OCM Program Manager will partner closely with Executive Sponsors, Business Champions, Business Data Leads, IT, and Program Managers to embed disciplined, measurable change practices across all phases of the program lifecycle with minimal disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

OCM Strategy, Governance & Value Realization

  • Define, govern and execute the end-to-end OCM strategy for the modernization, aligned with overall program objectives and milestones.
  • Develop integrated OCM milestones, measures and decision gates into the modernization program governance.
  • Assess organizational change impacts and identify risks, resistance points, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure consistency of change approaches across all SAP workstreams and deployment waves.
  • Establish clear definitions of success and adoption of metrics aligned to business outcomes, not activity completion.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of OCM specialists, including change analysts, communications leads, training leads, and change champions.
  • Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations for OCM resources.
  • Ensure workload alignment across the team and effective integration with SAP program workstreams.
  • Build internal change capability and standardize OCM tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Coordinate and manage external change management consultants as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership Alignment

  • Identify impacted stakeholder groups and create targeted engagement plans.
  • Partner with executive sponsors, senior leaders, and line managers to build visible sponsorship and accountability.
  • Coach leaders and people managers on their role in driving SAP adoption and reinforcing new ways of working.
  • Equip leaders and people managers to actively lead change, reinforce adoption and address resistance.
  • Facilitate workshops as applicable.

Communications

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive SAP change communication strategy, including key messages, timing, channels, and audiences.
  • Rebuild confidence following prior ERP efforts through transparency, creditability and leadership alignment.
  • Create and oversee delivery of communication materials (emails, presentations, intranet content, FAQs, roadmaps).
  • Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and tailored to different stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate communications with program management, SAP SteerCo team, and other corporate and operating group stakeholders to ensure messaging is appropriately tailored.

Training & Enablement

  • Define and govern the training strategy for SAP end users, including role-based learning paths.
  • Partner with L&D as well as functional teams to help design, develop, and deploy training materials.
  • Ensure training aligns with business processes, system configuration, and go-live readiness.
  • Measure trainings by proficiency, adoption and time-to-productivity.
  • Support super-user and change champion networks to enable peer-to-peer adoption.

Adoption, Readiness & Sustainment

  • Define and track adoption metrics, readiness indicators, and change KPIs.
  • Conduct organizational readiness assessments and coordinate corrective actions in real time.
  • Maintain a portfolio-level view of enterprise change initiatives to minimize change saturation and collisions.
  • Support go-live and post–go-live stabilization, including hyper-care support.
  • Develop sustainment plans to reinforce adoption and embed changes into standard operating procedures.

Program Integration

  • Act as a core member of the SAP program team, working closely with:
    • Project/Program Management
    • Business Champions
    • Business Data Leads
    • IT Technical Leads
