A global fintech leader, Acrisure empowers millions of ambitious businesses and individuals with the right solutions to grow boldly forward. Bringing cutting-edge technology and top-tier human support together, we connect clients with customized solutions across a range of insurance, reinsurance, payroll, benefits, cybersecurity, mortgage services, and more.
In the last twelve years, Acrisure has grown in revenue from $38 million to almost $5 billion and employs over 19,000 colleagues in more than 20 countries. Acrisure was built on entrepreneurial spirit. Prioritizing leadership, accountability, and collaboration, we equip our teams to work at the highest levels possible.
Job summary:
Acrisure is seeking an experienced OCIP Safety Manager to provide part-time, project-based coverage across construction sites operating under an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP). This role is designed to support short-term coverage needs—approximately six weeks per year—ensuring continuous safety oversight during staffing gaps, peak project activity, or planned absences.
This individual will serve as the on-site safety lead during assigned coverage periods, maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations, enforcing OCIP safety program standards, and supporting contractors in executing safe work practices. The OCIP Safety Manager will step seamlessly into active projects, conduct daily safety reviews, and ensure that all required reporting, inspections, and training activities remain on track without disruption.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced construction safety professional who values flexibility and enjoys stepping into dynamic environments where immediate impact is required. Candidates who are confident operating independently, quickly assessing jobsite conditions, and collaborating with multiple contractors will be well suited for this role.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-site safety leadership during assigned coverage periods across active construction projects
  • Conduct daily safety reviews of work in progress and perform ongoing site inspections
  • Monitor adherence to the OCIP safety manual, OSHA standards, and project-specific safety requirements
  • Identify jobsite hazards and partner with contractor representatives to promptly mitigate risks
  • Prepare and submit required daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports during coverage periods
  • Ensure timely reporting of recordable injuries and near-miss incidents in accordance with program requirements
  • Participate in site inspections and permitting processes (e.g., confined space, hot work, trenching)
  • Attend project meetings and deliver safety updates, observations, and recommendations
  • Accompany OSHA representatives during site visits and document findings as needed
  • Verify completion of required safety training, including new hire orientation and ongoing tailgate meetings
  • Enforce compliance with safety policies and address non-compliance in alignment with OCIP guidelines
  • Support incident response activities, including leading safety stand-downs and reinforcing preventative practices
Requirements:
  • Direct experience in construction safety management with on-site oversight responsibilities
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations within construction environments
  • Experience supporting Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) or similar large-scale construction safety programs
  • Proven ability to quickly assess jobsite conditions and step into active projects with minimal ramp-up
  • Experience performing safety audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring
  • Ability to manage safety reporting, incident tracking, and documentation during active projects
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with contractors, site leadership, and regulatory representatives
  • Comfortable working in a part-time, short-term coverage capacity (approximately six weeks annually)
Education and licenses:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field beneficial
  • OSHA certifications (e.g., OSHA 30) strongly preferred
  • Professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST) considered an asset

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $60 - $80. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
