• Monitor turbine and site performance in real time from the site control room, using SCADA systems to track production, alarms, and faults, and escalating issues as required.
• Respond promptly to instructions from EETC and the O&M team to adjust production levels, including ramping and curtailment, within the required timeframes.
• Carry out turbine shutdowns and restarts in line with the site's environmental permit, including the Shutdown on Demand (SOD) protocol during the migratory soaring bird season.
• Carry out site rounds and visual inspections, monitor weather and grid conditions, and report abnormal readings or safety concerns without delay.
• Keep accurate shift logs and operational records of curtailment events, shutdowns, faults, and site incidents.
• Support O&M contractors and technicians on-site, coordinating site access, permits to work, and safety requirements.
• Follow all site health & safety, environmental, and security procedures at all times.
• Give a clear handover to the incoming operator at shift change and escalate unresolved issues to the Site Manager / O&M Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
• Technical or vocational qualification in electrical, mechanical, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• GWO certification
• 2-4 years’ experience in wind farm operations, control room monitoring, or industrial/utility site operations preferred.
• Working familiarity with SCADA systems and a basic understanding of turbine operation.
• Willing and able to work a rotating shift roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, and to be based on-site at GEZ.
• Comfortable following strict procedures under time pressure, including curtailment windows and shutdown instructions.
• Good spoken and written Arabic and English.
• Valid driver's license.
