Job Summary

Grady Health System's Nursing Excellence Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of a nursing program to ensure it consistently meets the standards required for accreditation by governing bodies like the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This role involves managing curriculum development, faculty performance, student outcomes assessment, compliance monitoring, and self-study report preparation to maintain accreditation status. Also, responsible for other projects or tasks assigned by nursing leadership.

Nursing Excellence Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to achieve and sustain Magnet®, Pathway to Excellence®, and/or similar nursing programs.
  • Identify, pilot, implement, and manage new technologies, workflows, and care models that improve nursing practice.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying gaps and areas for development in relation to accreditation standards.
  • Serve as liaison between frontline staff and leadership to translate needs into actionable innovation projects.
  • Engage staff through recognition programs, innovation challenges, and professional advancement opportunities
  • Research, write, and submit proposals to secure funding for projects, programs, and for the organization.
  • Matching funding opportunities with organizational needs
  • Writing compelling grant proposals that align with funder guidelines and requirements.
  • Preparing reports and progress updates for ongoing grants.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, such as directors, finance teams, and other staff to gather information for grant proposals. Pathways, Magnet, Accreditation grant writing a plus!
  • Coordinate and manage the entire accreditation process, ensuring adherence to timelines and procedures.
  • Work with accrediting bodies to understand the standards and criteria that must be met for accreditation.
  • Prepare and compile documentation required for accreditation applications and renewals.
  • Provide training and resources to staff or faculty about accreditation requirements, standards, and processes. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the organization and accrediting bodies.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance systems that align with accreditation standards.
  • Conduct internal audits or assessments to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing adherence to accredited standards and adjust as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records for accreditation related documents communications and reports.
  • Stay updated on changes in accreditation criteria, regulatory standards, and best practices in the field
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Education

Required: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred: Master's Degree

 

Experience

Required:

Minimum (3) years of work related experience, 5 preferred

Skills/Certs/License

Required:

American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Basic Life Support (BLS)

Registered Nurse in State of Georgia
