 Scope of the Position

Work within the local community and lead agency structure to assure that the Program is implemented in accordance with established guidelines and contract requirements. Using principles of supervision, reflective practice, and staff development, to provide primary support and appropriate oversight in the Program, and to build and model a strengths-based, client-centered culture.

Essential Duties

  • Hire, evaluate, supervise, and develop nurse home  visitors and administrative/data support staff to ensure effective      implementation of the NFP philosophy, model, education requirements, and contract expectations.
  • Assess staff knowledge and skill needs, provide orientation, reflective supervision, professional development, and study time to support performance and address gaps.
  • Oversee program data quality, timely documentation, records management, web-based reporting, and compliance with agency, state, accreditation, NFP, and contract requirements.
  • Assign and monitor client caseloads, support nurse home visitors in building and managing caseloads, and carry a modified caseload when appropriate.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, advisory boards, committees, budget and contract monitoring, and ensure funds and resources are used in alignment with model fidelity and contract agreements.
  • Develop and maintain community referral sources and partner relationships, support program materials and supplies, uphold confidentiality, quality, and productivity standards, and perform other assigned duties as needed.
  • Support staff in New Castle and Kent county.  
  • Carry a modified caseload of 10-12 families
  • Local and state-wide travel required to support staff and families. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Nursing may be required; master’s degree in nursing or related field, preferred. Current and in good standing license with experience in public health, community, and/or maternal-child health, required. Must have prior training in the NFP program model.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the community.
  • Ability to help others to learn through a variety of methods.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license which meets the requirements of company automobile insurance company.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (B.S.)
  • Master's degree in nursing or related field
  • Current and in good standing nursing license
  • Experience in public health, community, and/or maternal-child health
  • Prior training in the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program model
  • Experience hiring, evaluating, supervising, and developing nursing staff
  • Ability to manage and carry a modified caseload of 10-12 families
  • Valid driver's license meeting company automobile insurance requirements
