At Pyramid Healthcare's inpatient treatment center in Duncansville, PA, we are dedicated to helping individuals overcome Substance Use Disorders through compassionate, evidence-based care. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) PRN to join our team and play a vital role in supporting clients on their recovery journey.

Our inpatient nursing environment offers a unique opportunity to focus on clinical care and client recovery without many of the physical demands commonly associated with hospital and long-term care settings.

• No assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• No catheters, IVs, ports, or midlines
• No blood draws (completed by a contracted national laboratory)
• Minimal physical demands with no heavy lifting required
• Fully electronic Medication Administration Records (eMAR)
• Collaborative, recovery-focused treatment environment
• Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in behavioral healthcare

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments for new admissions
• Administer medications and provide education regarding prescribed treatments
• Monitor and manage withdrawal protocols utilizing COWS and CIWA assessment tools
• Observe and assess client health status and respond appropriately to clinical concerns
• Assist providers during medical evaluations and medication management appointments
• Ensure compliance with all medication administration standards and nursing best practices

• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies
• Follow all licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements
• Complete required trainings, certifications, and continuing education

• Work closely with interdisciplinary treatment team members
• Communicate effectively with medical, clinical, and operational staff
• Provide guidance, direction, and support to LPNs as needed
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented environment

• Provide clinical guidance and support to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and other nursing staff
• Ensure nursing services are delivered in a safe, compliant, and effective manner
• Assist in maintaining high standards of quality care and client safety

• Current, active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Current First Aid and AED certification

• Behavioral health, substance use treatment, detoxification, or inpatient nursing experience preferred
• New experiences considered based on qualifications and passion for the field

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• Knowledge of nursing care standards and medication administration practices
• Familiarity with withdrawal management protocols, including COWS and CIWA
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations
• Commitment to ethical, professional, and confidential client care

This position involves fewer physical demands than many traditional nursing environments.

• Occasional standing and walking
• Light lifting as needed
• No heavy lifting or extensive physical care responsibilities
• Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations

This role is based within an inpatient behavioral healthcare setting serving individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Team members may encounter:

• Medication administration responsibilities
• Behavioral health situations
• Crisis intervention scenarios
• Collaborative treatment planning environments

PRN staff may be scheduled based on program needs and staffing requirements.
