Summary:
The Urgent Care Advanced Practice team is made up of over 60 fantastic and dedicated NPs and PAs who share a love for the pediatric population. We have great collaboration with our clinical staff and physicians as well as strong support from our leadership.
Our full-time APPs enjoy fantastic benefits, and our yearly PTO simply cannot be beat! Our new hire training consists of two phases which are custom built to each experience level. Our mentors guide the immersion into our urgent care clinic, and work alongside you.
- Full-time Schedule: 3 twelve hour shifts/week
- Part-time Schedule: 2 twelve hour shifts/week.
- $60 - $80/hr based on NP or PA experience (plus differential pay for select shifts)

The APP will function in a collaborative independent practice with the physician(s) in an Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) setting. The APP will autonomously perform patient assessments, form diagnoses and interventions according to approved protocols and evidence based medicine. The APP will treat an average number of UCC patients per hour based on the requirements per UCC policy. The APP will prescribe a variety of modalities to meet the needs of the patient and families presenting to the UCC, up to and including, discharge from the UCC or facilitation of a referral and/or transport to a facility of a higher level of care and prescriptive authority. The APP will supervise clinic personnel as needed.
Education:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses:
- Masters Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred. Preference given to APPs with critical care, ED or urgent care experience.
OR
Physician Assistants:
- Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.
- Preference given to APPs with critical care, ED or urgent care experience.
Certification/Licensure:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses:
- Current Texas professional registered nurse license
- Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
- Certified as a PNP or FNP
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
OR
Physician Assistants:
- Current Texas professional Physician Assistant license
- Certified as a PA-C
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
