The NPI Quality Engineer is responsible for leading quality planning and execution for New Product Introduction (NPI) from development through mass production. This role ensures that products and processes meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations while enabling a smooth and stable transition into mass production.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead quality planning and execution for New Product Introduction (NPI) from development and qualification through initial mass production.
•Develop, implement, and maintain Control Plans, PFMEA, risk assessments and product/process qualification activities throughout NPI phases.
•Support customer quality requirements during NPI, including audits, documentation and technical discussions.
•Establish, monitor, and drive improvement of critical product and process quality metrics (yield, defect rates, Cp/Cpk, and reliability) during NPI and initial mass production.
•Drive cross-functional issue resolution with Design, Process, Equipment, and Operations teams, leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why) for NPI-related issues.
•Ensure compliance with applicable industry and customer quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, customer-specific requirements) and continuously improve NPI quality processes, lessons learned and best practices.
QualificationsQualifications and Skills
·Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Applied Science.
·Engineers with experience in QC, NPI processes or manufacturing are encouraged.
