Job Description

Who You’ll Work With

Arista is seeking an NPI Operations Manager.  This is a critical role, ensuring that Arista customer driven programs complete milestone deliverables to meet the customer’s needs and prevent delays to their internal development and deployment programs. As an NPI Operations Manager you will work with an experienced internal cross-disciplinary team, contract manufacturers, and strategic partners to drive hardware product development, release to manufacturing, and sustain the product in manufacturing. In this role,  your time will be divided between driving the NPI process and supporting Manufacturing. You will lead the cross-functional team through prototype build and evaluation cycles, phase gate reviews, through release to mass production. Strong leadership, communications, problem solving, and communication skills are essential. 

What You’ll Do

  • Accountable for readiness of NPI manufacturing and production ramp.
  • Lead a cross-functional team from engineering, Validation, Manufacturing, Product Management, Contract manufacturing partners, ODM/JDM partners, and customer support to deliver outstanding products to the market.
  • Own and facilitate weekly cross-functional NPI team meetings.
  • Manage prototype build readiness, progress, and completion with internal stakeholders and NPI and Production contract manufacturer (CM) sites
  • Monitor MFG yields and drive resolution of defects during NPI builds
  • Create prototype build schedules that capture and interconnect the key functional deliverables as defined by the product development lifecycle and ensure the team stays on track to meet program milestones.  
  • Provide MFG readiness status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation plans for weekly hardware program reviews and updates
  • Prepare for and facilitate NPI cross-functional phase gate review meetings
  • Drive, coordinate, and monitor NPI and sustaining programs including scheduling, planning, product and project cost analysis, early access, & first customer shipment.
  • Identify program risks and drive mitigation plans across cross functional teams
  • Define and implement product development process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of combined new product introduction, manufacturing, operations, and program management experience with rack-mounted data center or enterprise equipment.
  • Experience interfacing with product management, internal cross-functional engineering teams, and sub-tier suppliers
  • Significant working knowledge of hardware development.
  • Proven track record of managing hardware projects and delivering on time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, define, document, implement new processes.
  • Ability to listen and simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences, and prepare summaries for executives and stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.  MS/MBA and PMP are desirable.

Compensation Information

The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $122,000 to $166,000. 

Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. 

The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
