The NPI Engineer is responsible for ensuring successful launch of New Product coming into Chippewa Falls. Oversees all aspects of the NPI builds and serve as a process resource prior to release and when the product is processing on the floor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The NPI Engineer will interface closely with the NPI Program Manager, TTM sales, FEE and Process Engineering to identify potential barriers to manufacturability by understanding the customer’s end application of the product and TTM’s capabilities by coordinating required actions to minimize impact to meeting production timing, quality and cost targets.
  • Display the capability to recognize potential cost concerns that can be communicated accordingly to the Quote Team
  • The individual will attend all DFM meetings as an active participant.  Recognize and suggest for improvement processing concerns to avoid potential risks to the product.
  • Support site Processing Engineering on technical issues and process holds.
  • Support Process Engineering and Quality Engineering on NCR’s and yield solution
  • Support customer calls as needed.
  • Drive Technical and Production readiness review prior to releasing volume production.
  • Monitor and manage new products through all stages of ideation, design, development and production ramp-up.
  • Create robust project action plans, utilizing appropriate software for tracking timelines and assignments to satisfactorily meet customer expectations.
  • Provide customer-focused input on CF Technology Roadmap and process capabilities to NPI Program Manager
    • When necessary, create a technical presentation that can be communicated to higher levels of the organization as it relates to the manufacturing of the PCB 
    • Identify gaps between project performance and desired results, proactively working towards problem resolution with all parties.
  • Working with site FEE team, evaluate high-risk customer designs and stack-ups, coordinate testing to validate reliability of designs and stack-ups and provide logical feedback to customers with proposed solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with TTM’s Field Application Engineers and customers’ technical contacts.
  • Drive profitability through proposals for product differentiation based upon PCB knowledge, CF capabilities and customer needs.
  • Analyze customer designs for manufacturability and propose changes to affect improvements in cost, quality and/or lead-time.
  • Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art industry technologies as related to TTM-CF technology production strengths.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Solid knowledge of the entire PCB manufacturing process, including initial process flows, individual production and processing steps, and required tooling.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the demonstrated ability to drive indirect reports toward project goals.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to break down complex projects into clear action plans.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and issues to non-PCB industry professionals and verify understanding. 
  • Thorough understanding of TTM - CF manufacturing capabilities and technologies is preferred
  • Awareness of material attributes and processing concerns and capable of communicating with customers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively work with customers design teams
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering and production activities related to PCB industry is preferred
  • Intermediate level drawing / blueprint interpretation skills is preferred
  • Experience in more than one functional production area is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

Benefits are available 1st of the month following date of hire.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.

Export Statement:
Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of  Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
