Job DescriptionAs an NPI Engineer based in Taipei, Taiwan, you will be part of Axiado's Hardware Engineering team, responsible for taking hardware products from the design stage through to volume manufacturing. You will work closely with design engineers, the manufacturing team, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure that test flows are properly introduced, products are released to manufacturing smoothly, and products are supported through and beyond the production ramp.
Responsibilities
- Own New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, taking products from the design stage through volume manufacturing.
- Serve as the primary interface between design engineers, contract manufacturers, and operations teams.
- Review and understand engineering designs well enough to guide manufacturability and test decisions.
- Evaluate and recommend part replacements, and help manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Drive and support development and execution of manufacturing test processes.
- Maintain accurate product data and documentation within PLM systems.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 5–10+ years of hands-on hardware/NPI experience.
- BSEE required; candidates with exceptional hands-on depth in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing test processes and methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively between engineering, contract manufacturers, and operations.
- Ability to read and understand engineering designs, including schematics, BOMs, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with PLM systems (Arena preferred; Agile PLM also acceptable).
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in Taipei, Taiwan — this role is not available remotely.
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing BOM structures and part substitution/qualification.
- Background spanning both hardware design and manufacturing test, rather than exclusively one or the other.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region.
