Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense.

At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose — and with people who want to make a difference. We’re not just developing advanced supermaterials — we’re about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.

We’re entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.

Apply now to join our team and be part of something bigger than yourself — where collaboration, creativity, and purpose come together to build the technologies that will define the next century.

Lyten Poland is currently looking for NPI Engineer - the guardian of scalability in a fast-paced startup environment. As NPI Engineer you will serve as the primary architect bridging the gap between innovative battery system design and industrial-scale reality. Your mission is to translate complex designs into repeatable, high-efficiency manufacturing processes while maintaining the digital thread of the product.

Beyond the factory floor, you will own the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) transition, ensuring the seamless evolution of eBOMs to mBOMs and the integration of these data structures into our ERP system. By collaborating with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations, you will validate equipment and troubleshoot production bottlenecks to deliver a comprehensive industrialization framework that hits rigorous performance specification, safety, and cost targets for our plant launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering designs into production-ready structures, ensuring accurate representation of electrochemical components and sub‑assemblies.

  • Co‑establish and maintain ECN/ECO processes and enforce ECM protocols to prevent obsolete design releases during rapid R&D cycles.

  • Define lifecycle states and release workflows in PLM to synchronize engineering changes with factory operations.

  • Configure and maintain Bill of Process (BOP), routing sequences, labor standards, machine loads, and material consumption models in ERP.

  • Govern Master Data integrity and act as the technical owner of manufacturing-related data across PLM/ERP.

  • Lead the Stage‑Gate process for new BESS architectures, from prototype builds to high‑volume production.

  • Collaborate with equipment and material suppliers to ensure technical documentation aligns with internal PLM and manufacturing standards.

  • Influence R&D for improved manufacturability, assembly efficiency, cost optimization, and future automation readiness (DFM/DFA/DFC).

  • Serve as the primary liaison between R&D, Digital Systems, and shop‑floor teams to maintain a single source of truth across the product lifecycle.

  • Resolve early‑stage production non‑conformities through structured root‑cause analysis and translate findings into ECRs.

  • Lead the introduction of new products and materials, managing the transition from pilot builds to serial production.

  • Support Operations and Process Engineering with technical specifications, assembly methodologies, and workflow optimization.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects, ensuring BOMs, workflows, and work instructions are accurately reflected in digital manufacturing systems.

  • Manage process engineering projects, ensuring design intent is preserved from concept to serial production.

  • Develop throughput and workforce estimates, validate labor standards, and support line balancing.

  • Coordinate with contract manufacturers and equipment suppliers on assembly tooling, automation, and FAT activities.

  • Support cost‑reduction initiatives (VAVE), capacity expansion, and strategic outsourcing of sub‑assemblies.

  • Conduct detailed failure analysis with QA and feed insights back into design for permanent corrective actions.

  • Lead PFMEA sessions and enforce safety and risk‑mitigation standards for new BESS assembly lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 3+ years in a high-growth manufacturing environment (experience in battery,  automotive, high-volume discrete manufacturing is a distinct advantage)

  • Previous experience in the battery manufacturing sector, including familiarity with high-voltage systems, Battery Management Systems (BMS), or thermal management integration is a significant plus

  • Proven track record of taking products from prototype through serial production, specifically managing Stage-Gate transitions

  • Strong experience with PLM and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Arena, Teamcenter); must have a deep understanding of eBOM to mBOM translation and Engineering Change Management (ECM/ECN)

  • Practical knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, and Root Cause Analysis (8D, 5-Whys) within a manufacturing context

  • Proven track record in orchestrating the seamless transition from eBOM to mBOM within a PLM/ERP environment

  • Greenfield or Start-Up experience, with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where you are required to build processes from scratch, not just follow existing ones (as advantage)

  • Experience working effectively in a multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams (R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing Operations)

  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail

Specific skills

  • Fluent English (C1/C2)

  • Proven system agility in configuring and navigating ERP/PLM environments

  • Practical experience in applying World Class Manufacturing standards (ie. PDCA, PFMEA, 5S, Visual Management, SMED, RCA, or Poka-Yoke)

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems is a plus

  • Experience working within IATF 16949 frameworks, utilizing Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA) to ensure a flawless product launch are a significant advantage

Personal success factors

  • Highly organized and result-driven

  • Has a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Growth mindset

  • Passionate & purpose driven

  • Capability to work independently, able to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently

  • Ability to work in a high profile and often high-pressured international environment

  • Qualities that we cherish are flexibility, sense of quality, friendliness, motivation to take on new challenges, grit and a sense of humor
