Due to our ongoing growth and strategic ambitions, Marsh is seeking a dynamic and experienced Northern Region Sales Leader to join our Sales team based in Brisbane, reporting to the National Corporate Sales Leader. This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving business development, being a key player in a high-performing national team, connecting the various team capabilities both in state and nationally and shaping the sales strategy to accelerate Marsh’s market presence and penetration.

About the Role:
As the Northern Region Sales Leader, you will take ownership of the sales function within the region (QLD and NT), while directly engaging with key clients and prospects. You will be responsible for coordinating a high performance team across various client segments, setting and executing strategic sales plans, fostering strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth through innovative solutions and exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with Marsh’s broader growth goals and market opportunities in QLD and NT

  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their business needs and positioning Marsh’s solutions as the preferred choice

  • Oversee the management of the sales pipeline, ensuring robust forecasting, timely follow-ups, and effective opportunity progression

  • Collaborate closely with and bringing the ‘best of Marsh’ across Risk Management, Corporate State Leaders, and Sales and Industry Practice leaders to prioritise prospects and tailor sales strategies

  • Drive the preparation and delivery of compelling proposals and presentations that clearly articulate Marsh’s value proposition and risk management expertise

  • Negotiate terms and conditions of engagement with prospects, ensuring compliance with Marsh’s operating model and regulatory requirements

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to streamline sales processes, enhance client engagement, and maximise growth potential

  • Utilise Marsh’s CRM system to provide real-time insights into pipeline status, team performance, and market trends

  • Leverage marketing channels, industry associations, and buying groups to expand Marsh’s reach and influence in the market

What You Bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in business development or sales within the insurance broking or financial services sector, with a track record of managing and growing high-performing teams. A proven and expert sales professional without insurance sector experience will be considered for the right candidate.

  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to influence at senior levels and drive business outcomes

  • Comprehensive understanding of broking principles, insurance products, and market dynamics

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Demonstrated business acumen, including knowledge of finance, risk, and management principles

  • Tier 1 FSRA Compliance and ANZIIF Associate membership (or willingness to obtain)

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining a focus on results and compliance
