Meet Benevity
Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!

As the Nonprofit Engagement Specialist, you are the subject matter expert on Benevity’s nonprofit ecosystem, leveraging our value and software to build strategic relationships and help nonprofits access the support they need.

You have an excellent eye for detail, enjoy building relationships through being a trusted partner, and building up deep subject matter expertise in an area with high impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Curate engaging content for crisis response and awareness events like International Women’s Day, and create custom lists to align with client campaigns and pillars
  • Provide custom reports on eligibility, regions, and NTEE codes to support client programs and internal stakeholders
  • Build and manage relationships with key nonprofit partners, advising them on partnerships, corporate engagement, profile optimization, and donor experience to maximize funding potential
  • Lead projects to enhance the nonprofit experience, including connecting nonprofit-facing functions and participating in the development of a Cause-focused relationship management system
  • Utilize statistical methods to prepare reports on market trends, user behavior, and cause demographics
  • Serve as an ambassador for the cause-facing teams, modeling desired behaviors in all professional interactions
  • Create custom documentation and presentations as needed
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the nonprofit ecosystem, collaborating on projects such as nonprofit webinars, case studies, speaking engagements, content creation, and Benevity Live! speaker selection

What you’ll bring:

  • Deep knowledge of the nonprofit experience with Benevity’s ecosystem across software and teams, such as disbursements, vetting, volunteering, etc.
  • 2-4+ years of client-focused work experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • 1+ years of data analysis and reporting experience
  • Data-driven mindset and attention to detail - whether dealing with spreadsheets or building relationships
  • Experience exchanging and building/managing relationships with nonprofits, helping solve problems, ideally at the executive level
  • Reliable team player that enjoys collaborating cross-functionally and builds trust through high accountability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to translate technical information into everyday terms, and the ability to chair meetings or host webinars
  • Advanced skill in Excel
  • Transparent, collaborative approach to problem solving and team interactions
  • Demonstrated social and emotional intelligence and well-developed soft skills
  • Passion for helping nonprofits make a sustainable impact
