and an Incorporated Trust in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The organization
was established to support and empower Africans impacted by Parkinson’s disease
(PD).
ABOUT
THE ROLE
This role is a 6-month contract to stand-in for the Charity
Manager who will be proceeding on maternity leave. This is a pivotal role
within the organization, supporting the growth, development, and expansion of
the charity. We seek a proactive and experienced professional with strong
multitasking abilities, a strategic mindset, and the capability to take the
initiative in managing operations efficiently.
This role will oversee general administration, programme
management, finance, stakeholder relations, marketing, and policy compliance.
Duties
and Responsibilities
Operations
• Develop and implement an operations
plan aligned with the charity’s strategic goals.
• Oversee day-to-day operational
activities to ensure the effective delivery of services.
• Maintain and oversee IT and financial
systems to ensure they are up to date and secure.
Programme
management
• Oversee the delivery and evaluation
of existing programmes and activities.
• Prepare program reports for funders
and key stakeholders.
• Develop new initiatives to further
the charity’s mission and vision.
Finance
and fundraising
• Oversee all aspects of income and
cost management, including the processing of grants and donations, with the
support of the Treasurer
• Manage and monitor income and
expenditure budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
• Ensure timely preparation and
submission of financial reports and budgets.
• Ensure financial statements are
submitted for external review and in compliance with UK/Nigeria charity
regulations.
• Collaborate closely with the Board of
Trustees and fundraising teams to develop and implement effective strategies
for bid-writing and fundraising activities
People
management
• Oversee all aspects of recruitment,
onboarding, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive
work environment that promotes professional growth and development.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Cultivate and maintain productive
relationships with partners, donors, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Oversee beneficiary relations,
ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Represent the charity at local and
international events.
Marketing and Communications
• Develop and implement a comprehensive
marketing and communications strategy.
• Manage internal and external
communications, including newsletters, press releases, and promotional
activities.
• Develop up-to-date and engaging
content for the website and social media platforms.
Policies
and Procedures
• Ensure compliance with organisational
policies and procedures.
• Regularly review and update charity
policies and procedures.
• Ensure strict adherence to client
confidentiality protocols.
• Ensure compliance with applicable
charity laws in the UK and elsewhere, fundraising regulations, and professional
best practices.
• Maintain high safeguarding standards
to protect the charity’s beneficiaries.

• Proven experience in operations

• Strong leadership and people

applications, and corporate partnerships.
• Excellent communication and writing
skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
applications.
• Strong attention to detail and
organisational skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel as
required.
• Experience working with individuals
with learning disabilities is an advantage.
• Understanding of UK GDPR, Equality,
Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), and Human Resources best practices.
