The responsibilities of a Next-Generation Product Manager are deeply rooted in digital innovation, customer-centricity, and agile execution:

Product Strategy & Vision:

  • Develop and refine the overall product strategy and vision for specific products or features, ensuring alignment with the value center's objectives and the bank's broader strategic goals and market trends.
  • Prioritize product features and initiatives based on a profound understanding of user needs, market opportunities, the competitive landscape, and business goals.
  • Eager to leverage product expertise across various offerings, not limited to assigned products.

Customer Needs & Market Research:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analyze industry trends to identify new product opportunities and potential disruptions.
  • Gather and prioritize product requirements from diverse stakeholders, including customers, internal business units, and regulatory bodies.
  • Proactively seek and integrate customer feedback through methods such as user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to ensure consistent delivery of end-user value.

Agile Product Development & Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and planning through development, rigorous testing, launch, and continuous iteration.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, compliance, marketing) to define product roadmaps and specifications, ensuring effective execution.
  • Apply agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and design thinking frameworks to rapidly prototype, test, and deliver high-impact solutions.

Data-Driven Decision Making & Performance Monitoring:

  • Analyze product performance metrics, including adoption rates, revenue contribution, usage frequency, and customer satisfaction scores, along with user feedback, to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Leverage predictive analytics and big data to inform feature prioritization and user retention strategies, transitioning from intuition-based to data-driven decisions.

Innovation & Experimentation:

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies (blockchain, artificial intelligence, cloud computing) to identify opportunities for product innovation and market disruption.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, utilizing methods like A/B testing, user interviews, and usability testing to generate hypotheses and gain actionable insights.

Risk & Compliance:

  • Ensure that products comply with relevant financial regulations, data privacy laws, and security standards throughout both the development and operational phases.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, engineering, design, marketing, and compliance teams.
  • Facilitate communication, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment across all functions.
  • Adaptable and willing to undertake diverse tasks as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum: 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Successfully launched and scaled diverse digital financial products (e.g., lending, BNPL, Insurtech, mobile wallets, payments).

Special Skills

  • Ability to analyze complex data, understand market dynamics, and apply business insights to design scalable, sustainable, and customer-centric products.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills necessary to articulate product vision and gain stakeholder buy-in across the organization.
  • Drove product decisions through extensive market research, user feedback, and data analysis.
  • Applied product design principles, Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), and customer experience optimization.
  • Collaborated effectively with engineering, design, marketing, and compliance teams.
  • Leveraged emerging FinTech technologies (AI, ML, blockchain, cloud) in product development.
  • Utilized product analytics tools like Amplitude or Mixpanel for behavioral insights.
