JOB DESCRIPTION

WTXF- Fox 29 Philadelphia is a dynamic and forward-thinking news station committed to delivering high-quality news content to our audience. We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and creative News Leader to join our team and help shape the future of our broadcasts.  The ideal candidate will have a real passion for owning a show, the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, and the creative vision to help develop multi-platform show concepts that thrive on both broadcast and streaming.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented Line Producer with a proven track record and a dedicated, driven, and tireless work ethic. The ideal candidate will have a real passion for owning a show and the ability to collaborate effectively with on-air talent, writers, and editors on all editorial issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce all elements of our newscasts, including leads, stories, teases, and breakouts.
  • Mine social media for information and integrate it into our news coverage.
  • Participate in the selection and development of stories, ensuring comprehensive coverage of news events.
  • Run the control room editorially during shows and breaking news situations.
  • Innovate and bring ideas to evolve our broadcasts, attracting a demographically driven audience.
  • Pitch and produce creative content tailored for OTT/streaming platforms, developing show concepts and digital-first segments that expand our reach beyond linear broadcast.
  • Drive innovative show ideas and adapt broadcast content for our streaming platforms to engage on-demand viewers across digital ecosystems.

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and show production skills.
  • Strong editorial knowledge and active decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent news judgment, writing skills, and knowledge of current events.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills.
  • Knowledge of TV production techniques and newsroom computer systems.
  • A strong background in entertainment and talk programming is a plus.
  • Understanding of ratings, meters, and audience flow, with the ability to use this information strategically.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a TV newscast producer in a medium to major market.
  • A four-year college degree is preferred.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $75,000.00-85,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
