What We Need:
The Black Information Network is the first and only 24/7 National and local all news audio network dedicated to providing an objective, accurate and trusted source of news coverage with a Black voice and perspective. BIN is focused on service to the Black community and providing an information window for those outside the community to help foster communication, accountability, and a deeper understanding.
Serving 91% of the population monthly means that we reach and serve almost every community in America and we're adding new markets monthly, so we need that same diverse representation guiding our airwaves. Inclusion is about people working together, creating solutions for our many programming and advertising partners across our multi-media assets.
We are looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented News Anchor. This person will work closely with the managing News Editor as well as BIN producers, hosts, and contributors in producing daily news content for The Black Information Network
What You'll Do:

Gather and verify information through interviews, observation and research ensuring that the news reported remains objective and balanced
-
Monitor sources for breaking news, e.g., wires and social media
-
Plan, write, edit, and voice news broadcasts
-
Finalize content using digital audio editing software
-
Maintain crucial deadlines in order to provide news stories in a timely fashion
-
Produce features and interviews as assigned
-
May specialize in a particular field of news broadcasting (e.g. political, finance or military)
-
Prepare written content, visual images, audio material and video footage for websites, blogs or other social-media platforms
What You'll Need:
-
Expertise using Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms
-
To be knowledgeable and up-to-date on local and national trends and/or to have specialized knowledge of subjects/events related to news impacting the Black community
-
Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation
-
Well-rounded communication and journalism skills for conducting interviews
-
Excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in grammar
-
Proficiency in media production and broadcast systems
-
Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi task in a fast-paced environment
-
3+ years’ experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station
-
4 – year college degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications

Compensation:
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
