Who You Are
You’re a Linux systems engineer with a strong focus DevOps principles. You're comfortable navigating complex technical landscapes, particularly in Linux OS internals, and containerization technologies. With a growth mindset, you’re always seeking opportunities to expand your skill set and contribute to the success of the team. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you're eager to mentor others while learning from your peers.
What You’ll Do
- Optimize and maintain the Kape network stack, routing, and infrastructure for Kape products.
- Drive R&D efforts, spikes, and prototyping to explore and implement new technologies and solutions.
- Continuously improve the VPN experience for Kape customers, focusing on performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the use of platforms and tooling across engineering and operations.
- Develop tooling and automation scripts to streamline infrastructure management using Golang & Python
- Automate system administration tasks and configurations using Ansible and other DevOps tools.
What You’ll Bring
- Proficiency in Docker containerization and orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible automation and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Background in Linux networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Experience working across various Linux distributions (e.g., Arch Linux, Debian).
- Skilled in shell scripting (Bash, etc.).
- Experience with Golang & Python for tooling and automation scripts (or other programming languages).
- Familiarity with encryption technologies and secure coding practices.
- Cloud experience, preferably AWS.
Nice to Have but Not Required
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with computer security concepts, particularly public key infrastructure, cryptography, and secure coding practices.
