Who You’ll Work With

When you join Arista as part of the Sales Engineering team, you're not just stepping into a role; you're becoming part of a team of industry experts and technical leaders. Typically reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you'll be working alongside some of the most skilled field engineers in the industry. Our team prides itself on not just understanding the technology but also the business impact and aligning our solutions with the larger goals of our clients. In collaboration with our Product Management and Software Development teams, you will play a pivotal role in steering product developments, offerings, and strategic direction to best serve our customers and prospects. Supported by the expertise of our world class Arista TAC, cutting-edge proof-of-concept resources, and support of the executive team, you are well-positioned to lead and innovate within the industry. 

What You’ll Do

Arista Networks is seeking an accomplished Pre-Sales Network Systems Engineer who will leverage their technical expertise of mission critical networks, routing and switching to provide technical systems engineering sales and support to expand the Arista brand for our customers. This role involves providing pre-sales technical support for our enterprise and commercial clients. The Systems Engineer plays a vital role in the Arista Sales team, primarily serving as a trusted advisor to our customers, collecting their requirements, and pinpointing opportunities with existing and prospective clients.

  • The Pre-Sales Systems Engineer is a critical component of the Arista Sales team with the key responsibility of acting as a trusted advisor for our customers and partners to gather requirements and identify opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Own the pre and post-sales technical relationship with the assigned channel partners and customers.
  • Build and maintain a deep, sound knowledge of all Arista technologies, in order to support and help in the enablement of sales
  • Facilitate technical knowledge transfer on Arista’s products, differentiators, solutions, and demos
  • Engage with key partners to develop proficiencies in delivering comprehensive services around Arista’s solution set
  • Participate in the execution of customer oriented Proof of Concepts (POCs)
  • Contribute ideas and solutions to the global Customer Engineering team
  • Execute technical Quarterly Business Reviews internally and with customers
  • Present at regional conferences representing Arista Networks’ technology and innovation
  • Present technical content to worldwide organizations both virtually and in-person
  • Travel time expectations are approximately 30%

Qualifications

  • Experience in networking design and implementation with a focus on Data Center, Campus (Wired and Wireless), and Security networks
  • Strong presentation and Selling skills
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of how to build successful relationships between an equipment manufacturer and a channel partner or reseller
  • Good interpersonal skills, customer relations skills, and problem management skills, with the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines
  • Experience creating technical material (slides, white papers, solution guides, etc)
  • Solid knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services in the networking industry
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of technical networking protocols across all layers, automation concepts, and security postures
  • Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible desired
  • BS/CS/CE technical degree preferred
  • Network Industry Certification including Arista Cloud Engineer (ACE) level 3-5 desired.

Compensation Information:

The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $145,000 to $190,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. Employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, income protection and a Group Retirement Savings Plan.
