The Opportunity
The Network Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and modernization of MetLife's network infrastructure in Mexico, spanning LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, collaboration, and security environments.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead critical platforms, drive automation, and influence the evolution of a hybrid ecosystem that supports business continuity and customer experience.
Success in this role requires strategic thinking, strong technical leadership, and the ability to thrive in complex, high‑pressure environments.
The Network Operations Manager is responsible for both operational excellence and long‑term modernization initiatives.
You'll collaborate closely with internal leaders, global/regional technology teams, vendors, and regulators in an inclusive and highly interconnected environment.
How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
• Lead the stability, resilience, and governance of all network services including LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, SD‑WAN, security, and collaboration platforms. • Create scalable operational frameworks, automation standards, and proactive monitoring practices. • Oversee incident response, problem management, KPIs, and performance thresholds across environments. • Manage vendor relationships, budget optimization, contract evaluation, and resource allocation. • Develop technical teams across networking, wireless, automation, security, and collaboration domains. • Coordinate modernization initiatives, cross‑functional interactions, and alignment with enterprise architecture.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field-critical for leading complex enterprise network architecture. • Expertise in Cisco technologies (routing, switching, SD‑WAN), Palo Alto, Zscaler, and VPN solutions for secure, large‑scale operations. • Experience with monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, NetBrain) to ensure proactive observability. • Strong leadership, communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills. • Ability to work in diverse, high‑pressure, and global environments.
What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)
• 8-10+ years of experience in network engineering and security. • Hands‑on experience with automation (Python, Ansible) and AI‑driven monitoring. • Strong vendor‑management and negotiation capabilities. • Ability to lead by influence and manage offshore teams effectively.
