Job Description
We are seeking a Network Support Engineer to provide support for the organization’s network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and availability of network services. The ideal candidate will assist in troubleshooting network issues, maintaining network equipment, and supporting day-to-day network operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first and second-level support for network-related incidents and service requests.
Troubleshoot issues related to IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and network routing.
Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Monitor network performance and respond to alerts or outages.
Maintain ticket updates and documentation for all reported incidents.
Work with internal IT teams to resolve complex issues.
Assist with network maintenance, upgrades, and implementation projects.
Ensure timely communication on issue status and resolution.
Requirements
Requirements
- 1–3 years experience in network support or a similar role.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with Cisco or similar networking equipment.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are an advantage.
- Basic understanding of Windows server environments and Active Directory is an advantage.
Engineer pre-requisites/Tools needed
The engineer will need
- A laptop running Microsoft Operating system (minimum Windows 11 but subject to change
- Console Cable
- A terminal emulator program. (recommended ones are Putty or TeraTerm or Poderosa)
- Serial Port (either built-in to the laptop or USB adapter)
- Networking support knowledge obtained in the field and appropriate OEM device specific training and certification needed to work on the OEM products.
- Teams or Webex applications for connection with Customer network NOC if required
- Engineering tool kit.
Skills Required
