Job Summary
This position is responsible for the staging, implementation, operational support, and troubleshooting of the local Comcast LAN environment. The role supports enterprise data, wireless, voice, and video services and serves as an escalation point for complex LAN and wireless issues. The engineer collaborates with internal Comcast customers and cross-functional engineering teams across all business units.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide advanced engineering support for local LAN services, including data, voice, video, and wireless.
- Serve as an escalation resource for complex LAN and wireless connectivity issues.
- Perform switchport configuration and VLAN changes; troubleshoot Layer 1 and Layer 2 connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and support network hardware including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and security tools.
- Conduct wireless troubleshooting and surveys using diagnostic tools such as Netscout AirCheck G2.
- Proactively identify network issues, trends, and risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Partner with Network Engineering and Corporate IT teams during outages, upgrades, and technology refreshes.
- Provide remote and on-site smart hands support for engineering initiatives as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network changes, procedures, and troubleshooting activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of Layer 2 networking concepts including VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise switching platforms, including Cisco 4510, Cisco 9300, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of structured cabling standards, including Category 6 copper and single-mode/multimode fiber optics.
- Experience supporting enterprise wireless networks.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a large enterprise or service provider environment.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., NetScout).
- Exposure to Layer 3 networking fundamentals.
- Experience supporting voice and video services over IP networks.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA or equivalent.

Salary:
Primary Location Pay Range: $88,120.56 - $132,180.84
