The Network Security Architect is the lead technical resource and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SecureOps’ Infrastructure Support team. He/She is responsible for determining, planning, designing and implementing Security Solutions on internal and customer networks. The scope of technologies is cloud and on-premises based, including Firewalls, Proxies, ISD/IPS, VPNs, Etc. Vendors include Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, OCI), Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, F5 and Juniper, among others.
Summary:
The Network Security Architect is a senior-level resource working primarily on contracted services and acting as a consultant for project-based mandates (professional services) within the SecureOps’ Infrastructure Support (IS) department. Reporting to the IS Operations Manager, the Network Security Architect works with other Network Security Architects and Senior team members to determine project scope based on the client’s requirements, participates in daily scrums and tactical discussions. The Network Security Architect will work closely with the IS Project Manager to receive assignments, provide status updates, and ensure successful task/project completion.
Primary responsibilities:
- Process complex Service Request from Clients
- Technical Consultancy for clients (Minimal Travel if required)
- Ensure accurate time tracking for client billing and future time estimates
- Mentor & Train Operations and Operations Engineers
- Training/Hand-over to Operations Engineers for deployments & standardization (architectures, procedures, guidelines, etc.)
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Act as L3 & L4 for IS Operations team Incidents
- Participation in Service Restoration Efforts (SRTs)
- Stay current with the latest technologies, security threats and vulnerabilities
- Assist the Project Manager with scoping efforts.
Requirements and Experience:
- Proven client management experience and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- 7+ years or more of network experience.
- 2+ years of architecture and solutions design experience (Network Perimeter, WAN and Cloud)
- Extensive Network Architecture and Design experience.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.
- A bachelor's degree in computer networks or information technology is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite.
- Experience with Cisco NSO and Nexus is desired.
- Proven experience with Routing (BGP and OSPF) and Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, OCI), DNS (F5), and reverse proxy (F5, Symantec).
- Cisco CCIE, CISSP, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE 6, F5 or equivalent knowledge are preferred.
- Cloud Computing Architecture Certifications (AWS or Azure) are an asset.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks to complete within established time frames.
- Manage to work independently without direct supervision, self-motivated, and meet tight deadlines
