Decom & Access Migrations Consultant
What you’ll be doing...
The project manager under Decom & Access Migrations will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the strategies and programs targeted to improve the customer experience and simplify Verizon’s wireline service delivery. Our team aims to improve our long-term wireline cost structure by leveraging the best network, simplifying product sets, streamlining service options, and retiring outdated assets. The project manager is responsible for migrations of services that are being withdrawn and will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the program plan that allows for efficient customer migrations. Additionally, the project manager will lead proactive customer outreach and present opportunities to customers. The PM is responsible for managing the scope and timelines of migrations activities; including engagement and communications with customers, mapping migration timelines, providing quotes, contracts, and orders in conjunction with the Sales and Sales Engineering team for replacement products and associated disconnects. Tracking progress against deadlines, orders placed, disconnect orders.
- Working with or within the Global Enterprise, Public Sector and Frontier Enterprise space.
- Working with our customers, partners, and across lines of business to solve complex issues deriving from customer migrations.
- Analyzing information to determine the best course of action that is in compliance with company and legal standards.
- Sharing knowledge and experience to enhance the technical and analytical capabilities of the PMO teams.
- Tracking migrations 30/60/90 days to help identify key milestones critical to the overall program goals.
Job Functions:
1. Product Migration & Decommissioning Execution
- Decom Notice Follow-up & Customer Engagement: Proactively engage customers following decommissioning and rate increase notices to explain options and migration pathways.
- Holistic Account Impact Coordination: Map all overlapping price-ups and decoms across an account to deliver a single, consolidated migration roadmap rather than piecemeal follow ups.
- Disconnect Order Processing: Generate and submit disconnect orders on behalf of sales and customers upon migration cutover.
- Migration Tracker Maintenance: Update systems to maintain real-time status across all active migrations for KPI measurements
2. Catch Product Quoting, Contracting & Order Entry
- Catch Product Solutioning: Identify and propose modern replacement services (e.g., Dedicated Internet, FWA, Ethernet, VoIP/SIP) in coordination with Sales and Solution Architects.
- Quoting & Contract Development: Generate quotes and contract documents in internal tools (SFDC/MSD, Current Platform, ProQuest, GCT).
- Order Placement: Submit clean orders into delivery systems to ensure timely provisioning.
- Coordination with PMO, Defend and customer service teams as appropriate
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- Possess a strong understanding of the Verizon internal and external network, both legacy and next generation equipment, services, and systems.
- Project management experience and strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Google enterprise (Sheets, Slides, Gemini, etc.)
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Familiarity with Frontier products, services and systems
- Familiarity with Verizon products, (Network, VoIP, IP Contact Center, MNS), services and systems
- Experience with VzT ILEC legacy systems (SOP, OPTIX, FACS etc.)
- Experience on VzT ILEC products especially POTs, ISDN BRI, Analog and Digital Centrex
- Direct customer contact and engagement across all levels, consumer, small, medium and enterprise
- Previous Sales experience
- Strong decision-making and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
