The Role: Network Infrastructure SupervisorThis role leads the day-to-day execution of network infrastructure operations within a Switch data center. You supervise technicians on shift, ensure work is completed safely and correctly, and act as the first point of escalation for operational issues. Your focus is consistency, service quality, and keeping the team aligned to established processes in a 24/7 environment.
What You’ll Do-
Supervise daily work for Network Infrastructure Technicians and ensure tasks are completed according to procedure.

Serve as the first escalation point for urgent network infrastructure issues during assigned shifts.

Ensure consistent use of policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Perform quality checks on completed work and address gaps in execution or documentation.

Support shift scheduling and coverage planning to meet operational demand.

Track and document basic performance metrics and provide updates to management.

Interpret and respond to mission-critical alerts, escalating issues when required.

Ensure tools, test equipment, and materials are available, maintained, and inventoried.

Provide hands-on coaching and on-the-job training for technicians.

Support interviewing, onboarding, and ramp-up of new team members.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of network spaces, including meet-me rooms and IDFs.

Travel locally or domestically when required to support business needs.

You are comfortable directing day-to-day work and making routine operational decisions.

You communicate clearly, especially during incidents or escalations.

You hold people accountable to standards while remaining fair and consistent.

Required
-
2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.

Background in network infrastructure, data center operations, or IT support.

Working knowledge of structured cabling standards, power, cooling, and fault tolerance.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware and layer 1 connectivity issues.

Experience supervising technical staff in a shift-based environment.

Ability to work nights, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed.

Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Experience using ticketing and monitoring systems.
Preferred
-
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification.

Experience with terminal access tools such as PuTTY or SSH.
-
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Syslog, Nagios, or similar platforms.

Cisco or other role-relevant certifications.

On-site work in secure data center environments.

Ability to work in non-office temperature conditions.

Ability to safely lift and move equipment using proper tools and procedures.

Willingness to follow and enforce all safety practices and training requirements.
