JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a sharp, reliable Robot Network / Infrastructure Engineer to join our Operations team.
In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain the network infrastructure that connects our robots to edge systems and cloud services. You will be responsible for ensuring high performance, secure segmentation, and reliable connectivity for our robots, both internally and at customer sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and deploy Wi-Fi, VLANs, segmentation, and network security for robot operations.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and site architecture.
- Support site readiness assessments, connectivity testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor network performance, diagnose latency and packet-loss issues, and ensure high uptime.
- Maintain OT network standards, architecture diagrams, and operational documentation.
- Deployment of Robots within our Robot Park location and at customer sites to ensure network connectivity and provide software support.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with a focus on Networks
- 3–5+ years network engineering experience (Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti, Meraki, etc.).
- Strong understanding of wireless systems and OT/IoT network design.
- Familiarity with network security fundamentals and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Ansible, Linux, ROS, Python, C++, and Docker
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in robotics.
- Experience working in a startup environment.
The Logistics
- Location: This role is 100% on-site at our Austin, TX headquarters ● Travel: Some travel is required, both domestic and foreign for this role. Ability to travel, and possession of passport is required.
- Schedule: This role requires flexibility. Hours may vary, and may include evenings and/or weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as required
- Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, power tools, and other facility equipment
- Ability to work in mechanical rooms, warehouses, offices, and other facility spaces
- Vision and hearing sufficient to safely perform job duties and communicate effectively
- Ability to respond to facility emergencies, including outside of normal business hours, as required
